At the end of one of Chris’s townhall meetings, an elderly gentleman rose to say, and here I must paraphrase, “you lead me to the edge of despair …and leave me with a flickering candle of hope.” That flame only brightens thanks to the work you and others are doing. I think the world is beginning to pay attention, although here in the west, our leadership is deaf if not uncomprehending. Thank you and greetings from Canada.

Hope? ... how?

Please explain ... eagerly awaiting your reply ...

Yes, the issues we are faced with seem insurmountable. Chris has said in the past that he doesn’t like to express hope as hope alone denies action. As he, Chomsky and others have stated, it is only through us taking to the streets, collectively, that will bring about change. That is the action that cannot be denied if enough of us are there.

Further, he says they (the ones holding the reins of power), must be frightened. As example, he refers to Nixon’s decision to bomb Cambodia

and 100000 amassed outside the Whitehouse, where school busses were parked bumper to bumper in a ring. He and Kissinger were watching from the Oval Office and Nixon turned to Kissinger and said, “Henry they’re coming for us.”

Further examples that can be considered successful and only if sustained, are Blacklives Matter, Wallstreet, Sunrise Movement and others.

Perhaps it is true, that only if enough of us feel desperation, will there be a collective movement to change.

8000 people marched out of Selma with MLK and a quarter of a million gathered to hear his I Have a Dream speach. All of these people are to be admired as this is where hope lies, not in the futile gathering to vote every 2 or 4 years.

Hedges peddles pessimism ...

I've followed him as closely as anybody this past decade, and he's just not the same guy since the lockdowns ... for many years he urged us to directly confront tyranny and fascism only to see him sneak out the back door on us ... for the past two decades, he gave us every indication that he'd be here to fight the good fight with us and then he threw his U.S. working class under the bus with COVID ...

He refused to stand with us against the illegal and unconstitutional mandates and passports, pushed the "safe & effective" narrative on us just 30 days after the explosive, court-ordered FDA FOIA release and continues to tell us that global warming poses an existential threat to our species ... but of course, has never once put a time table on it ... he now hides behind Gaza and Assange at our expense.

“oh please!...

stop killing us!...

we’re just children!...

you killed the others!...

you killed our mother!...

you killed our father!...

and then our sister!...

and our brother!...

and for what?!...

our family’s dead!...

you blew them apart!...

our father’s smart head!...

our mother’s sweet heart!...

all they did was work hard!...

our father plowed the fields!...

our mother cooked our food!...

sister’s wounds had healed!...

and brother’s pigeon cooed!...

now they’re dead and gone!...

and it’s all because of you!...

why do you kill like this?!...

we don’t even know you!...

but you still kill us dead!...

yes this is what you do!...

so what is life to you?!...

even we know better!...

than to be like you!...

stop what you do!...

stop killing us!...

you did enough!...

you killed so much!...

just stay away from us!”...

I have made an eight minute video of the ongoing tragedy in Gaza and have attempted to post it on YouTube and Facebook. Youtube blocked it saying "Content that may pose a serious risk of egregious harm by falsely claiming that footage from a past event is from a current event isn’t allowed on YouTube." I can't locate it on Facebook. I would dearly love to send it to you with the understanding that you can do with it whatever you want, even ignore it.

Chris, I recently wrote to your Alma Mater of “these ‘TIMES’ they aren’t a-changing”, they sure as shit ain’t listening or reporting on anything about — “The Quiet American” EMPIRE [apologies to Graham Greene]

As the former FCC Chairman, Newton Minnow, described the inexorable and propagandist nature of TV, and as Neil Postman accurately described the ‘dumbing down’ and camouflaging of “The Quiet America” Empire, along with the capture of influencing more than 95% of all Americans, as “Amusing Ourselves to Death”

The duopoly of Empire has, IMHO, been driven by the over-medicated, totally insane, and risen to a level of mind control which is akin to, but amplified into a state accurately described by Huxley’s 1932 “Brave New World”.

What wonders are we looking forward to by the (S)election of 2032?

Will we have accomplished turning our world into a burnt-out cinder? — by maximizing ‘Negative Externality Cost’ looting and destruction of our planet that the damned arrogantly, self-appointed, and Uber Wealthy “Masters of the Universe”, or will we wake the eff up, and maximize, ‘Positive Externality Profits’ for the benefits of a society of socially democratic and reasonable equality for all people?

Thank you Chris. The short clip presented a sort of nightmare that never ends. This is how my friends in Gaza have told me they feel. There is no time and no place that is safe.

Culture maters. It is a shame that some are better than other in terms of serving the human condition of its members. The Palestinians and their terrorist handlers and the Western left that takes up their bleeding heart cause... none of them would be so motivated if Israel was a backwards broken culture like the Islamist dominated Palestinians. The lie is that Israel oppresses the people of Palestine. Israel is in the same boat as all other situations where a dominant culture borders a weaker and more corrupt culture... there is envy... there is resentment... there is longing to take or be given more from the dominant culture.

There is a moral argument to be made for dominant cultures to do more to reach out and help. But there is only so much that can be done in generations because people clutch their culture despite the flaws. They are proud. They want their cake and eat it too. You cannot do much other than show them the way to a better life, and then they have to change their own behavior to earn it.

But to seek to destroy the dominant culture out of jealousy, resentment or an irrational emotional reaction of egalitarianism. Or to just score luxury virtue signaling points in elite circles. THAT is as sinister as is the very terrorism that seeks to murder innocent people just for the rise.

Very few of the people on the hate-Israel and hate-Jews side of the Israel-Palestinian conflict have really done much to reach out to the Palestinian people to help them improve their culture and lives. The Arab world that exploits the Palestinians against Israel for example have copious financial resources to have invested in Palestine... but they don't.

So the criticism of Israel rings hollow except to be defined as true antisemitism.

Chris I am a long time follower and reader of your work which is some the best journalism occurring today. You have provided me with many insights about what is occurring in our nation and world. I am not sure why this is happening, but there several people who make unwarranted, inaccurate critical comments about yourself and your reporting which I find offensive. One I found made inaccurate generalizations about Jews, which boarded on antisemitism. I know you want to have as much free and open commentary as possible, but I support any effort to keep this disturbing commentary under control.

Yes. I agree. I hate policing comments. There have, as you point out, been inaccurate and possibly antisemtic comments about Jews. I draw the first line at attacking other people who post and let slide offensive comments made about me or generalizations about groups of people that I also find distasteful. I would rather not censor or ban anyone.

You fell for a psy-op, poor bastard. Ironically, history will show your chauvinist "culture" analysis to be what is antisemitic, among the many other unsavory categories it smoothly falls into.
