Same here! So thankful for this platform.

Same here too! I was just thinking about the need to economize in these uncertain times but whipped out my credit card immediately. Because of the de-platforming of RT, Chris's commentary and interviews may be less accessible to a mass audience. But now he is free of any taint of the stench of Vladimir Putin. May the truth prevail!

Ditto! Chris, I was reared in the First Presbyterian Church in Midland, TX. My mother was one of little Dubya’s Sunday School teachers. She and I vigorously opposed his 2003 Iraq War, indeed, we opposed his entire presidency. Years earlier, there was a Liberal head pastor at our church (by then I was in Buffalo, NY, at a professional ballet boarding school), but heard that the congregation strongly disliked the pastor’s scolding, his criticism of the segregation of GOP and Dem citizens, his strong civil rights stand. Eventually, a young Conservative on a church committee got rid of the Liberal pastor. I wish I could say my parents were on the Left. They were not. My mother became more left wing in her later years, however, and my father, a WW2 Navy veteran, became strongly anti-war in the last decades of his life.

Bless you, Chris, for all you do and have done.

Your ardent and respectful follower. dcr

Same. I'm sad this is how things have to work, but I'm happy to help. I have the luxury of contributing. Even if others aren't, I'm glad Chris still wants the information to be free.

I'm so glad you're here! As a resident New Yorker, when you announced your bid for office in NJ, I was so briefly excited to campaign for you then and am equally happy to support you now.

I'll will subscribe regardless of the model you choose, but would strongly request making as many posts as possible free to non-subscribers, limiting the paywall for more intimate reader contact. I'm sure your following will grow massively and would love to be able to share your work with as many people as I can.

Thank you!

It's not about the cost for me, but about the ability to share powerful articles with people who can't afford it. Not a question of whether to have a subscription model, but more as to WHICH content is for paying subscriptions only.

I would pay good money to listen to Hedges talk to just about anyone, but I am continuously asked by people who don't pay for their media, "how come you hear such different viewpoints than what I'm reading? what news do you get that I don't?". The answer is that I read and listen to many independent media creators and spend more money on these subscriptions than they do on cable/Netflix/Amazon each month.

I subscribe on principle, so hopefully it's possible to do both- provide free access to the most important posts and provide value to paying subscribers with other additional content. All the best.

They were not lost on me. People nit on this situation don't get it so they hive well intended advice like drop channels and subscribe. I don't only listen to news. If I did I'd be suicidal no matter if it's chris or someone else. People don't get being poor unless they have been in that situation so they give advice.

I do get being poor. I’ve been homeless but not as bad off as some. I make minimum wage, have no health care because it’s unaffordable, had cats and kittens dropped off on me that I couldn’t find good homes for and struggled with 2 and sometimes 3 jobs just to pay for vet bills( I made sure all got spayed and neutered) and lived with anxiety that I would have to euthanize some to save others for about 20 years. When the last ones passed on it was a shock to have any money to spend on myself because I never did anything other than spend on food, rent, and whatever I had to do to stay employed, all on minimum wage. The main reason I’m an opponent of the pet trade, the animals overall always lose and people like me are burdened with abandoned animals. I sincerely hope things improve for you immediately, I’ll say a prayer for you now since there’s no way I can help you directly.

Right, so I would say don’t worry about it, I’m sure Chris understands and that’s why there is a free option. Don’t know if it will help but my prayers to you that you will make it safely through this time of hardship and have your voice heard and get your own mission accomplished.

Totally agreed with Dolgrin, subscribed in a New York minute! Thank you, Chris Hedges, for your work, especially for your unfiltered commentary. More than anyone else, your work is the top-of-the-food-chain. And oh, by the way, thank you for not supporting the Iraqi and Afghanistan invasions while standing up to The All-Mighty New York Times!

Chris is one of the biggest and effective voices for veganism, yet I’ve hardly seen him talk about it! But as Chris has pointed out, the ones crushing the animals are the same ones crushing everyone else and everywhere. Chris, if you ever do any kind of looking back episodes of little known activists, I hope you look up the life of human and animal activist Henry Spira. Henry had a long involvement with many of the causes you support and eventually saw protection of animals as the cause he ultimately had to devote his whole life to. One of the most outstanding things about him is he kept his ego out of his work. His tactics, borrowed from what he saw and assisted with in the civil rights movement in the 60’s, led to unprecedented achievements for the animal movement. Thanks for your valuable work, I’m trying to buy your books without using Amazon! When I get some of your books, they’ll be donated to all the public libraries. Please everyone, IF you can afford it, consider doing likewise!

A great book about Henry Spira’s life is titled Ethics into Action, by Peter Singer. There you see Henry’s involvement with unions, his reporting in small newspapers on civil rights marches, his time as a school teacher in the poorer areas of New York City, and finally his move to vegetarianism and the first activist to shut down cruel experiments on cats at the Museum of Natural history. Rather than believe the saying, “You can’t fight city hall”, Henry said you can fight city hall and you CAN win.And he proved it many times. His methods described are a virtual blueprint of how to accomplish effective actions that can apply to any good struggle. Worth reading for that reason alone.

Agreed Anne. The MSM in Oz (where I live) faithfully echo the current Conservative Federal Government - which seems to have more than its fair share of spivs, chancers and time-wasters. Best wishes. Julian

I’m sorry you lost your show on RT Chris. I’m afraid the public won’t know how egregious and cynical this attack on the press and first amendment is for years to come, if ever.

Truly bizarre to be living in McCarthy era 3.0. People wonder why the left is always so weak.
