SOME CHOICE. Genocide Joe replaced with Bomber Harris, who is married to a Zionist Billionaire. Or a Flim Flam Grifter born with a gold spoon in his mouth and a Zionist Kahane Son in Law and personal pal of Netanyahu. Are we living in Alice's Wonderland? Armies of Humpty Dumpty Hasbara Wordsmiths "words mean what I say they mean" with Mad Hatter Generals and Politicians who repeat them like the Loyal Fascists they really are! Dr. Strangelove is the MIC version of Humpty Dumpty!

You certainly do have an embarrassment of riches....lol.

Which is why I was telling my hard working farmer woman the other day that it truly doesn't really matter who wins........America has succeeded in setting things up so that only utter chaos at home might...just maybe....bring all those soldiers in all those 800 or so bases on other people's land.....back home.

So get on with it...........and have fun. There does seem to be an inordinate love of violence in much of your popular culture. Take it out on each other.......not the rest of us in your vassal states. I say this from Canada, where I've only recently learned the extent of our kowtowing to every illegal regime change, coup or sanction your country has cobbled together.

That there's only a choice between evils....and you imagine you can pick the lesser one (hahahaaha) is the old story of Empire. I suspect that very few in the third world wish you well.

I don't understand your disjointed gibberish. The last line about the third world was the straw on the camels back. Is Gaza part of the third world? Many Palestinian's on Twitter give thumbs up for my comments!

You may be leading with your American exceptionalism here Jim. I'm agreeing with you.........but further, I'm suggesting that Empires busy policing the world fall apart because they hollow out the homeland to rule over others.

I just happen to be an old Canadian woman who's paid attention to your endless string of 'interferences' in other people's countries...Venezuela is in your cross hairs now...but Cuba is also suffering under America's 30 years of unnecessary and illegal sanctions. I have relatives by marriage there...so I know the details.

What I'm saying in the comment above is that America is more hated than loved...if the truth could be told safely..........all over the poor world your guns and your corporations patrol your American interests (capital investments/money)...

Being in bed with Israel is just one piece of the sordid story. But it's an eye opener that makes the suffering in Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Indonesia....visible as part of a pattern. El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama....many in Latin America see it as clearly....they've experienced the good works of the School of the Americas and the Kissingers of your government.

Nobody with a working intelligence and some knowledge of the history of the world following World War II......sees the American Empire as anything but a planetary bully. I feel for the many good people in Amerika, but personally, I am an enemy of that fascist world power.

A lot of internal chaos might spell a breather for her vassals around the globe...so vote or not vote, we hope you're in for it.

What are you talking about I Have NEVER championed Mythical American Exceptionalism! EVER! I Hate Empires and Racist Imperial thinking ! I haven't quoted his words but Mark Twain was an enemy of the American Blue Water Empire! Along with Immanent Domain and the Monroe Doctrine! I think I will re-read his essay "To the person sitting in darkness" its online check it out! His satirical wit describes the double cross of Natives by the US under Spanish Rule like Cuba, Hawaii, the Philippines and the Boxer Rebellion in China! He repeats the "joke" of the Chinese "Reparations" demanded by foreign powers and Christian Churches. To set up the "joke" [ a Tael is Chinese money]. The Imperial powers demanded Chinese HEADS for every Foreign National killed along with Money! The joke went something like "Taels We Win. Heads you lose". He also pointed out the "terrorists" took prisoners and wounded, but the Imperial powers never had prisoners or wounded to report. As they had a blanket NO QUARTER GIVEN. "Put the spud in" as in Bayoneting those Surrendering or Wounded.

Mark Twain was a member of "The Anti Imperialist League" could you imagine a group like this today? What they would be called? Twain's words of satirical wisdom jump off the page and is a fresh today as in 1905. example "The Blessings-Of- Civilization, Trust, Wiseley and Cautiously is a DAISY! Love, Law and Order, Justice. Liberty, Gentleness, Equality, Christianity, Honorable Dealing, Protection to the Weak, Mercy, Temperance, Education and so on. There it is Good? No Sir It Is Pie!"

Jim: You are doing what Progressives Lite do all the time.....take things personally.

I never made one single comment about you my friend...I don't know you. My analysis....for that is what it is.....is of your imperial country.

I've read Mark Twain...........including his Letters from the Earth.......I'm a retired English teacher. I've also had experience with people who can criticize their country, or province, or city government..........but woe betide anyone else who shares their take.

So I'll say it again, in brief. It doesn't matter to me who wins your hyped up November election. I'm sick to the death of how much American gobbledegook I've had to listen to.........on Canadian air waves.......for as long as I've been alive. It's generally accompanied by the death toll, or starvation statistics from Amerika's victims. Just now, your government is hell bent to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela...Americans in general will be on side, and spout garbage about democracy....and let their fascist government take back Venezuela for American oil companies and other corporations.

I'm not accusing YOU of doing that Jim. But if you can't hear people from outside your borders.........if you have to be the only expert on everything.......than my dear..........you are American to the core...and four more years of a crooked 'businessman' with early signs of dementia might be the best your country can do.

So for the last time: I'm not talking about you Jim.........I'm talking about your freedom loving country, and the murders she's condoned, and organized......for as long as I've been alive. I pity many of her citizens.....but I recognize a dying empire when I see it.

Take care.

No Ingamarie I am Canadian myself. At 67 I know well the power of the American Elephant on our border. I am horrified at the Fascist Policies of both Parties. Pierre Elliot Trudeau was the last PM who defied American orders allowing Draft Dodgers sanctuary who weakened the Siege of Cuba along with cooling down rhetoric dealing with China. But of course he was labeled a commie. The sad fact the US invaded Canada with their corporations and took over our economy without a shot fired, showed our weakness allowing the Corporate controlled Free Trade Deal! As for calling me "Progressive Lite" and taking things "Personally" you are doing exactly what you deny!

I personally like Cornel West. I used to walk precincts for the dems. I'd tell people that their vote is their voice. I still believe that. But now too many people have died in Gaza because of our beloved dems. I'm done.

true if you can't expand your mind beyond a 2 party system. But dear reader of comments there is a 3rd choice . Have any of you looked into the 3rd party candidates running against the duopoly this Nov. Check them out. They don't get the press cause the duopoly rigs the system that way. But if you got the time check out the Green Party. *People Planet Peace*. It's time to rock this sinking boat dear citizens. We can break the endless war cycle, the Military Congressional Industrial Complex cycle, the genocide in Gaza cycle, the erroding of our civil liberties cycle. Ponder taking the road not taken.

To repeat, as an American citizen, I will not be voting for Harris & Co., or Trump & Co., because I have no right interfering in the internal affairs of a foreign nation, Israel. I will vote for the American candidate who is running for the presidency of the U.S. of ''America'', Jill Stein.

Choice? There is no choice. Both candidates serve at the pleasure of God as Money. Shall we hurry or slow the collapse? Brother West is the moral vote. For my children and grandchildren I pray there is a way where there does not appear to be one. I see at least 2 decades of chaos no matter who wins the whores race.

Although Gaza may still be the most urgent issue, and we cannot turn our eyes from them, there is another grevious situation in the increasing settler violence and land confiscation in the West Bank, aka illegally Occupied Territory. There are some, too few, organizations trying to help, at least up until this most grevious situation in the West Bank, this week, where there is an actual military invasion by Israel, with public officials threatening the same death and destruction as in Gaza.

There are those inside Israel who stand for justice and humanity, made up of committed Israelis and Palestinians working together to protect the Palestinians.

There must be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Pope Francis has said what is needed, now he must do what is needed by going to Gaza and standing for peace, justice and freedom.

Please sign the petition and share widely.

Let us also support UNRWA. If our governments won’t act in accordance with humanity, then we will. https://www.unrwausa.org/donate

Also we can all support the brave doctors who have gone to Gaza: https://palestinian-ama.networkforgood.com/projects/206145-gaza-medical-supplies-oct-2023

Or

Let us make our donations to honor Aaron Bushnell, in memory of Hind Rajab, or Dr Jumann Afra, the mother of newborn twins killed by Israel using US bombs.

If you are truly tired of reading about the conflict in Palestine, I urge you to do something about it. Like forcing your elected officials to take a stand. Instead of writing replies complaining, write "Letters To The Editor." Start a movement. Hundreds of thousands of people would like nothing better than to read about something else, but as long as the killings continue, they should be read and heard every day. While in Italy, participate in the demonstrations.

I've been following Chris and Amy Goodman for years, and they are dedicated to raising awareness about the atrocities happening to the Palestinians, and they will not stop till it's over.

The sooner this genocide ends, the sooner we can turn our attention to other important issues.

It's hard to believe that you're actually complaining about Hedges focusing "too much" on the war in Gaza. Israel has a government of outright fascists and is committing a real-life full-on genocide, and the US is not only bankrolling it but also providing diplomatic "cover" for it, while our official media pretends that Israel is the "good guy." Israel's crimes are on a par with those of the Nazis, yet you somehow think that because you once went to BU and had contact with people like Mungo & Zinn, that this gives you enough progressive "cred" to justify your whining about a "tiny little matter" like the US giving 110% support to the murder of at least 40,000, and perhaps as many as 185,000 defenseless people, mostly women and children. Not to mention the "little matter" of IDF soldiers gang-raping Palestinian prisoners, which the MSM is also basically refusing to report on,

Why? To continue to talk about it means a mirror in front of our faces ALL THE TIME (which is very necessary - WE NEED TO WAKE UP to REALITY before it is too late - my personal opinion: it is too late, but as the good old saying goes: you should never give up HOPE!)
