The mere minor players you talk about have passed laws, backed up by the SCOTUS, that have essentially legalized terrorism against the pro choice movement, threatening its members with total financial ruin for helping a woman obtain an abortion. Note that Texas Law SB8 was passed nearly a year before Roe v Wade was negated.
Hundreds of other extremist laws passed by red state legislatures have terrorized doctors and hospitals into refusing to give care to women who have an array of heathcare challenges besides just those with reproductive issues. These laws are torturing and killing women. Doctors are afraid to give care to women who have the misfortune of being both pregnant and also suffering from life-threatening illness such as cancer because if the fetus or even a fertilized egg is harmed or destroyed by the treatment of the illness, they may go to prison.
That's the power of those you consider minor players. They may be tools of the main monied players behind the curtain, but they hold and exercise massive power in their own right.

Hundreds of other extremist laws passed by red state legislatures have terrorized doctors and hospitals into refusing to give care to women who have an array of heathcare challenges besides just those with reproductive issues. These laws are torturing and killing women. Doctors are afraid to give care to women who have the misfortune of being both pregnant and also suffering from life-threatening illness such as cancer because if the fetus or even a fertilized egg is harmed or destroyed by the treatment of the illness, they may go to prison.

Not my case, and perhaps for this reason I don't understand how a prophecy by Isaiah made 2600 yrs. ago about the imminent end of times could be believable at all. Same for the New Testament's similar assurances. If I'm to believe in prophecies I'd rather follow Nostradamus which is much fresher. I'm very happy that you found the peace that religion can bring to the believer, but in my case I was unwilling and unable to make the leap of faith as Soren Kierkegaard recommends. Once in a park, one of those evangelists approached me and after some brief discussions told me that I was too proud to accept faith. My answer was Yes, I know I have a satanic pride but that is nothing compared to the pride of people that believe they were made at the image of a God who is instantly ready to attend to their prayers asking for solutions to their menial troubles that ordinary life brings. It seems they forgot that the same God created the universe in six days after which he got so tired that he had to rest on the seventh. Now, that is pride.

Julio, Religion and Faith in the Living God are not always one and the same. You can know the Bible by heart and still not know the heart of God.
Jesus makes that point by these words, "You hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
"This people draws close to me with their mouth, and honours me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
Obviously those words are not directed to Atheist/unbelievers, but to those who think they believe.

Jesus prayed alone to God in the Garden, asking to be spared the torture of Crucifixion. He was smart and could have got out of Jerusalem and started up elsewhere. God didn't answer that prayer of his own son.
The individual, personal relationship with God is not based on what other People do and say in this World, but is based on a 24/7 intimate Love Relationship with God who knows everything about us whether we are Alive or Dead to God in our Body.
By my Faith I'm already living in God's Eternal Sabbath which is every Day called TODAY knowing it's God that does the Works, not me. Jesus himself confessed that.
I do know God the Spirit which is Christ, LOVES YOU more than you Think and Imagine, and more than I or anyone else can show you.
Believe God Lives beyond the Book and sincerely call on Christ to come into your Life, and the Comforter will come to you but not necessarily in the way you expect. Be Vigilant and Trust God Lives and Loves those who desire to be like Christ!
