Thank you Chris for such an honest and truthful account of the situation on the ground. It’s a moving testimonial to Shireen Abu Akhleh and all the other courageous journalists and decent human beings who have pushed to expose the inhuman treatment of Palestinians and the impotence of the world to address this abomination. Thank goodness for voices like yours.

Were Shireen Abu Akhleh murdered by a country that we do not like, we would hear howls of outrage from the usual political and MSM sources, we would be duly instructed whom specifically to blame, no investigation needed, all before her body ever even hit the ground.

I know how closely Shireen Abu Akleh's assassination hits home for you, Chris. I remember your grief at Jamal Khashoggi's murder and at the ongoing torture-persecution of Julian Assange whose marriage to Stella Moris you attended with a beautiful, tender message of congratulations and support. You know more than most the Imminent danger honest reporters face in this thickly mendacious vicious, topsy-turvy world. May your proud clan of courageous truth-tellers prevail and may you all feel our gratitude. .

We're on the wrong side of history in Ukraine too, Chris. As always, the US is on the wrong side of history. But the idiots who run the US think they own and control everything, including History.

one of the seminal findings from psychology is the karpman drama triangle. at each point there is a position: victim, persecutor, or rescuer. Because of the nature of the dynamic, any person on any point may change positions with any other. this is why rescuers often become persecutors and victims become rescuers and so on. the overarching point is that none of the positions is legitimate, none will result in resolution of the problem. the only way to win is not to play. that israel uses the persecution of the jews in WWII to maintain that no one may criticize them for their behavior is not a surprise. nor is it that they themselves have become the persecutor of others who they have now made victims. I find the whole thing deplorable. I hate state violence, no matter the state that carries it out. it never leads any place good.

Nothing one-sided here - PLEASE wake up and open your eyes. Even Israelis have their websites and news that show the truth of the apartheid state, f.i. https://www.btselem.org/ or https://www.972mag.com/ and IT IS NOT ANTISEMITIC PROPAGANDA!!!!

Where is the voice of that "decent man" Joseph Biden? Calling for another white-washed investigation by the Israeli military is obscene and scandalous. But it is par for the course in Amerika, where we can't even protect "homeland" citizens from the murderous paramilitary, aka COPS. It is little wonder that the entire world, with some notable exceptions, is becoming absolutely authoritarian. If "big brother" Amerika can get away with anything, then why not everyone else? However, to quote Malcolm X, the "chickens will come home to roost", and when they do there will be nowhere to run and nowhere to hide!

I am aghast that our foreign policy is regulated by those in our country who remain loyal and supportive to Israel in spite of its genocidal policy towards Palestinians. Where have all those with integrity fled to? Have they all deserted Washington, finding it to be a viper pit? I turn for solace to Yeats, who wrote, during the First World War, these words, which could not be more apropos:

"Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned:

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity"

Will these words ever cease to apply?

The Israeli government is peopled by those obsessed in carrying out revenge killings. Whether anointed by rabis or out to decimate any who would thwart their fantasy of ultimate control due to their own control issues, they are a rabid force no different from the non thinking irrational

Nazis menace. The offspring of the Nazi victims , now are the sociopath as villains. Extraordinarily sad . And AIPAC’s actions in the USA to destroy all those who choose not to baptize the brutal Israeli treatment of Palistinians reveal either their sociopathy or their incapacity to see their own Nazilike attitude and obsession with impurity or otherness. Leading today to the annihilation of Palistinians. Wholly perverse, an anathema, and un creative - anti-life attitude. Wholly abhorrent and representing a regressive element of humanity frozen in attitude and wholly incapable of a creative response to Palistinians. Grudge keeping of the darkest order.

How unutterably sad. Are we going to learn the ways of peace before it is too late, or continue to fight until the last of us starves to death on the scorched earth?

Jonathan Cook's linked article is a must read. He reported out of Nazareth, Israel for twenty years before returning to his native Britain in 2021. It's easy to see why.

Not a fan of this one-sided piece. Seems to be left-biased, pro-Palestine and somewhat antisemitic propaganda. Thinking of dropping my subscription. Please do better with more balance.
