We were told that Israel is "a land with no people for a people with no land". Yes, it was a myth. By the early 70s those of us who followed world events found that Israel was secretly funneling prohibited arms from the US to South Africa's apartheid regime. Cover blown. Still, it took me to the 21st Century to learn the word Nakba.
