I almost have no more tears to shed. But once again they came rolling down my cheeks. The tragedy, the tragedy of each individual amongst the tens of thousands murdered. More often than not now there are tears of rage. Rage against the Israelis and an even greater rage against the United States, whose explicit granting of impunity to Israel - not to mention billions of Dollars of weapons - allows Israel to continue with this ongoing genocide.
When a story of one person’s suffering is shared it makes the crisis so much more understood by outsiders. Understood in the heart and soul. I’m moved to tears. I won’t forget this child.
Anyone who still supports what Israel is currently doing, let alone what they have done to the Palestinians for 75+ years, are gruesome monsters with no sense of humanity. This is how my day starts - reading and listening to tragic stories that are just too much to bear. Our government is helping the Israelis kill children and adults. I've been a member of Jewish Voice For Peace for years. I remember once 10,000 women marched in Israel against the inhumane treatment of Palestinians. I only know about it because I received photos from fellow members.
I predict many Jewish people will leave Israel. They will give up their religion. They won't want to have anything to do with this genocide. Western nations are complicit as "hey, weapons sales are up!" All purchased by endless tax dollars while our own citizens are homeless.
Your sentiment and aspiration for such an ending is commendable and any decent, humane person would wish it could occur. Sadly, the power dynamic is radically different. America backs the genocide and has not ceased to endorse apartheid as it did in S.A. There is no unified world pressure to end Israeli evil, Zionism is rooted in denial of equality and will never submit to it. This is far more apt to end in general war than negotiated, equitable peace. There will never be a merged, fair and stable Israel with both Zionists and Palestinians. Zionism can't permit it.
