The worlds largest war economy wants to suppress anti-war dissent. This is not new it’s standard operating procedure. Only massive dissent in solidarity will counter the psychopaths who deliver death by decree. Millions will have to gather to move these ghouls from power. Millions.

The Plejaren extraterrestrial Quetzal

Quetzal:

This Netanyahu is no better than Adolf Hitler was, as I have learnt from records of what happened around him during the World War from 1939 to 1945.

I also see that in the overall reporting of the war between Israel and Hamas, everything is held in the same manner as it is in the Ukraine war, namely that there is only one-sided and biased reporting.

With regard to Ukraine, only the entire actions of the Ukrainian army are publicised by the media, but not what is happening on the Russian side.

Similarly, in the Middle East, only Israel is reported on, but not the other side, which means that the media also takes sides here, and only in favour of Israel, which also rages much worse than the attackers.

I also saw how Israeli military personnel hid firearms etc. in a hospital, which they then allegedly found and had photographed by war journalists, with the untruthful claim that these weapons had been stored there by the other side.

And that atrocities were also committed by the Israeli army, as well as by the attackers, which you have observed together with me, so you know what is really happening.

And it continues to happen on a large scale, with the 'great leader' Netanyahu, as a paragon of Adolf Hitler, fuelling the whole thing in full hatred.

That is what corresponds to the truth.

Surprised? The US has been squelching non-narrative voices for a long time.

Thanks again, Mr Hedges, for attempting to clear waters that have been deliberately muddied by the voices, amplified by our mass media, of fascism. I found it especially revealing that there are more right-wing Christian fundamentalist Zionists in this country (the U S) than there are Jewish Zionists, and Mr Saba's pointing out the growing awareness among younger Jewish folks of the importance of equal rights for Palestinians gives me a glimmer of hope in these admittedly dark times.

Yes censorship is very real in Canada too. Honest Reporting Canada is number one! Check out their web site. They deny the Nakba, deny the Occupation, deny that Palestine or Palestinian's are real. That Judea and Samaria was God given and Jews born anywhere in the world have more right to the land because they have lived their for 2000 years and the rightful owners. You would think that would deny them access to the media. But no they have a pipeline to all editorial pages, radio and TV news rooms, Colleges and Universities. They call themselves "grass roots" but are in fact an arm of Israel's Ministry of Truth! With an army of letter writers to attack teachers, students, media personalities, concerned citizens who support Palestine, with their go to WEAPONIZED ANTI SEMITISM smears! NDP Palestinian Provincial MP Sarah Jama was kicked out of the NDP party for her views with help from HRC. Many many Canadian's spoke up, myself included and defended her and she is now an independent. If this was a Palestinian "grass roots" organization with the same lies and distortions they would be called a "Hate Group". Which in fact they are hands down!

Censorship has always been the first weapon used by fascists, but the hope in our age of mass media is that our youth are no longer listening to the traditional media venues. Yesterday in the Thanksgiving party I was pleasantly surprised when my goddaughter, a 17 yr. old college student, started a conversation criticizing Israel for their cruel treatment of the Palestinians and later told me that all her friends agree with her. This was no possible 15yrs. ago.

Our empire, the U.S.A. is waning. Its future appears to confront many challenges, but with freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and freedom of speech, this country's inhabitants can meet and mitigate these critical problems sensibly and peacefully.

Unless this current trend of restricting freedoms of speech, press and assembly becomes set in law and precedent.

We are living in dangerous times and must push back against these ill-considered abrogations of our rights.

Joe McCarthy has risen from the dead. “Anti-semitism” has replaced “communism.” And both parties are supporting this insanity of equating support for the Palestinians as anti-semitism. Have they no shame?! Not as long as those corporate bribes keep coming their way from the military industrial complex and the Israeli lobby. Both parties are filled to the brim with sociopathic warmongering ghouls.

I vehemently oppose Israel's actions in Gaza, and certainly regard "Bibi" as a war criminal on a par with (irony of ironies) Adolf Hitler. I support pro-Palestinian protests and demonstrations, and reject as completely invalid and illogical the ridiculous and shameful conflation of this position with "anti-Semitism". I want to hope that Palestinian-Americans and others here who oppose the Zionist Israeli government's genocidal practices will absorb what is happening right now and wake up to the fact that censorship of free speech is WRONG, whether you agree with the speech or not.

It would be a wonderful benefit of this tragedy if this realization could permeate our culture, and if more Americans and other "Westerners" could understand and never forget, going forward, that just as criticizing Israel's policies and actions does NOT make you an anti-Semite or a Jew-hater, neither does criticism of Ukraine's government make you a "Putin puppet" or apologist for cruel and despotic dictatorship; a refusal to paint China as our mortal enemy, an existential threat to the US, hell-bent on world domination, does not make us "weak" or "isolationist"; refusing to be guinea pigs for rushed-to-market, ineffective, unnecessary new medications that do not prevent transmission and therefore are not public-health issues at all, does not make us evil heartless murderers; and support for the public-interest revelations of Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning and Julian Assange is NOT "Anti-American" -- for their actions never compromised or jeopardized American interests, but only the private interests of some ultra-wealthy and powerful individuals -- and their interests do NOT align with those of ordinary Americans.

The efforts of the United States and its "Western" "partners" to squash the absolutely just and valid pushback against Israel's genocide in Gaza SHOULD serve as such a wake-up call to everyone everywhere that our First Amendment protection of free speech is the MOST IMPORTANT protection that this or any society could ever have, and that we must defend it to the death -- ESPECIALLY when the speaker and/or the content of speech are unpopular or personally reprehensible to us. But will this happen? I am cynical enough to have my doubts; but I won't give up hope.

FAIR looked at four weeks of Sunday shows covering the current conflagration in Gaza, October 15 through November 5, during which time the topic occupied a significant portion of political talk show coverage.

We identified 57 guest appearances across ABC‘s This Week, CBS‘s Face the Nation, CNN‘s State of the Union, NBC‘s Meet the Press and Fox News Sunday, with 41 unique guests. (Some guests appeared more than once).

Of the 57 appearances, 48 were from the US. While representatives of the Israeli government or military appeared five times—and on every outlet except NBC—only once did a Palestinian guest appear: senior Fatah member Husam Zomlot, the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, on CBS (11/5/23).

There has never been free speech in the United States in my lifetime. And probably in the entire history of the Usa, since the constitution was adopted. Read We the elites by Robert Ovetz. It is especially odious when free speech is cancelled by a foreign country and its agents. https://open.substack.com/pub/heininger/p/more-journeys-with-ai-af9?r=16lm0&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Self censoring CNN reporters this morning are ridiculous and laughable in their slanted coverage about the Prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel. Clarisa Ward was talking about the transfer when one of the talking female heads said what about the Thai "hostages". Without a beat she said yes, "it was a propaganda move by Hamas" completely dismissing ANY notice of humanity and a good gesture. While they responded "Good Point". Other propagandists keep tripping over words like "killed" if Israeli then quickly saying "murdered", or making the mistake of calling those held by Hamas as "prisoners" again quickly correcting to "hostages". Others I have noticed are death lists of Palestinian's having the disclaimer from Hamas "controlled" hospitals! As in you "Cannot Trust Hamas, when in fact the IDF and Israel are the real serial liars!

Shit how crazy do Zionists look when they had a Christian right speaker who believed that" Hitler was sent by god" to bring the end of world times. That man is a insane POS, and the Zionist organizers put him up in front of many Jewish people and he was embraced. That's insane.

These last couple of months have shown so clearly how many people do NOT believe Palestinians should have equality. This needs to be highlighted even more. People need to be recorded and those recordings widely disseminated. I want to see more journalists just flat-out confront people with the question - Do you or do you not believe Palestinians should be equal to the rest of us? Yes or No. Just as we see with Biden. He just can't. His 80+ year old white man brain just cannot grasp the notion of other humans as true equals. They can have his compassion but not his respect/regard as equals. It's just like the 1950s. Just like Lessons in Chemistry (bestseller novel and AppleTV miniseries), how men could not wrap their tiny brains around the idea of women being equal, that's what is going on with Palestinians. All these people with their tiny little brains, they just cannot fathom it. Call it bigotry, racism, prejudice, whatevs. We need to keep highlighting their wrongheaded notions and keep highlighting how wrongheaded they are. It's about equality. If YOU don't want it for some, then you cannot expect the rest of us to want it for YOU.
