Bernie Sanders is the attack dog the Dems are sending out to eliminate Cornel West's campaign. I remember the "View" interview with Whoopi Goldberg and Bernie where she nastily said to him, when are you going to drop out. This Dem attack dog propaganda is going to be brutal when Cornel West begins to build steam. I, for one, plan to stay strong. Unfortunately, most of us have been propagandized from the time of birth as the normal course of growing up. Perhaps the nation is waking up to this a bit. Optomistically hopeful that our voices will be heard.

If I was American I too would vote for Cornel West.

The more people tell me I am being stupid the more I will vote for who I think is best to change the status quo.

That is what I'm going with and encouraging others to do the same. Thanks for your support. This interview is a wake up call. Every Cornel West supporter needs to hear it.

And within those two Parties, there is only a slim chance that progressives, particularly those that challenge militarism, will ever be chosen to represent the Party for national office. In fact, such progressives will be frozen out long before the voters ever get to the polls.

Excellent interview! The audacity of the US preaching democracy to the rest of the world.

The party bosses control who is allowed on the ballot. It became clear how powerful these people are when they removed 3-term Vice President Henry A. Wallace from the 1944 ballot and replaced him with the far less capable but more malleable Harry Truman. Three months later FDR died and Truman became the president of the USA by default. This selection process is done at every level of government.

I will wait for the transcript of this. SO interesting. I am deaf.

One other thing I keep asking.

Who is the DNC and who are they? Perhaps you have included this.

Anyway thanks Chris for your tireless work.

What the duopoly shows more than the sneaky, dishonest phase of democracy, is the power of cooperation. Walter Karl in Essential Enemies writes the two parties agreed around 1916 to eliminate 3rd parties. That is, it didn't matter to them who won, just so one of them won; for over 100 years it has worked to control which candidates were able to compete..

We can vote, but only for their candidates - that is the power of cooperation.

If Labor agreed it didn't matter which diverse population lead, as long as Labor was represented, it could achieve the same powerful results...Let's learn from the SOBs.

I've often dreamed of the political paradise we would live in if Nader had won the presidency in 2000; or at all. I saw him in the shadows of the stage as he was about to take it during campaign 2008. He oozed integrity. I've never witnessed that confluence of factors because our elections are so corrupt. We should remember that in 2000 more Dims crossed over in Florida and voted for Bush than total Nader votes.

I was amazed to find out tax dollars subsidize the political conventions of the duopoly.
