Every time Brother Cornell gives a speech I'd like to hear the person introducing him include this from Chris Hedges:" .. The array of forces that will seek to discredit and sabotage his candidacy will be formidable. The Israel lobby, the war industry, the courtiers in the media, the corporatists, the billionaire class and the Democratic Party leadership, will be as vicious to Dr. West as these forces in Britain were to Jeremy Corbyn and his supporters." Now is the time for People Power. Deciding to be, then becoming and realizing the Force that we are together to create what we and our beloved Earth require for ourselves and all with whom we share this Earth.

The new world order (read Gary Gerrsyle recent book on this topic) should be a social new order. Nations need to accept we need each other in a social order that's cooperative, that's communal and that's humane. For this we need trust and respect toward other nations. Currently we're going in the opposite direction. We and other nations are contracting onto themselves for security reasons as they currently mistrust other nations motives. This will only lead to chaos and world instability imho. We need to trust and rely on each other or else more of the same: forever wars that will eventually bring us all to destruction. We're at the cross roads. Peace or destruction....our call.

I wonder if a new national social order domestically is required before international amicability and trust can be established. Wouldn't it be something as crazy and far out as Dr. Cornel West winning the presidency to significantly promote the USA's (large) part in cultivating international peace? May we the people gain the teeth, the fortitude, perseverance, and courage to do what is necessary to unwind corporate influence as we intensify we-the-people agency.

This will be the greatest insertion of reality into the United States of Bed Bath and Beyoncé since the Puritans landed and screwed it all up. Dr. West deserves the support of the world as well in this endeavour. We need him!

West switched to the Green Party. I aprove. Whatever gets you heard is necessary. How can I help?

Wow. I didn't know that. I agree.

In his zeal to condem Russia, Cornel West failed to condem US-backed Urkonazis for killing thousands of ethnic Russians in years prior to Russia intervening to stop this atrocity. Considering the US empire's pychopathetic warmongering, deadly economic sanctions, neo colonial exploitation, coups and lust for war with China - West should cease to carelessly characterize Russia as an imperial empire. Otherwise, he comes across as just another neoliberal Russiaphobe. In regard to the spectre of ecocide, hope he fleshes out a survival strategy that doesn't turn on the fairytale that industrial-level energy/electricty can be clean and green. Admire his passionate support of the indigenous people of Palestine and other oppressed peoples.

Cornel West needs to get educated about the Ukraine conflict immediately and stop with the ludicrous pandering to Russophobes.

Here in Quebec all our party' are Green even our conservative government are Green Zealots because Greta Thunberg has replaced John the Baptist as our patron saint. I think Dr West would love Solidaire. It is our surging left wing coalition. We believe in tearing down ALL the walls and letting people decide for themselves what politics serve their needs. Needless to say the United States of America is our number one existential threat but I love brother Cornel.

In Quebec race, gender and religion are no longer human identities.

Today as we "mourn" the passing of Berlusconi nobody dares say he was a fascist in the mold of Ronald Wilson Reagan who but for the aid of Fred C Koch's John Birch Society wouldn't have been elected Governor of California.

I’m curious about Quebec’s position on capitalism. What you describe sounds like Denmark or Finland, which value democracy more than individual accumulation of baubles. Does that sound like a fair comparison?

Thanks for your unwarranted but needed comment and the oppportunity to expplain my autistic understanding.

We are democratic socialists. Corporations and other institutions like church and state have only the privileges we grant them. Secular Humanist liberal democracy grants rights to sentient life not pieces of paper.

We don't speak English or Newspeak CAPITALISM is like ECONOMY it is how a society functions. Liberal means we adapt to change because ethical philosophy is the study of evolution in Quebec

Race, gender and religion are not real ln a society entrusted to the hands of its ethical philosophers.

Where I live the Universite de Sherbrooke runs health education and welfare and its ethical philosophers are the most liberal in Quebec where Bernie Sanders is center right.

My wife and I travelled the stars and got lucky. Quebec is doing just fine yesterday our government did what they were asked to do. They took stewardship of all our forests because you can't trust corporations to care about sentient life.

Solidaire is surging in Quebec. It sounds just like Brother Cornell.

Solidaire is the opposite of solitaire.

Solidaire means bring together and solitaire is for when you are alone.

I met Brother Bernie a couple of times and he assumed I was not who I am . I am autistic but look and sound like a University of Chicago alum and I could feel his contempt which I share.

I risked deportation and volunteered with the Wobblies.

I've always been wobbly it comes with autism. Without the compassion of others survival is too difficult for most of us. I was lucky even before I met an American philosopher. I can't imagine a better life even at 75.

I suspect rather I feel the Wobblies took me for a spy but they needed volunteers and would take even someone as strange as yours truly.

How do I make a contribution to the West campaign (not the People's Party)? Where are links to volunteers, events, campaign plans and policies, etc?

I know for whom I'm voting, in 2024. As a Green Party member for many years, I am confidently hopeful that Dr. West will win the nomination. I will contribute, financially, to his campaign, as I did for Ralph Nader, every time that great man ran for the office. The primary impediment that I see to Dr. West's chances to radically influence the election, is the mainstream media, that same "institution" that focused all its attention on the campaign of Donald Trump, in 2016, at the behest of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton, in furtherance of their self-described, "Pied Piper Strategy," in order to focus all media attention on the candidate least likely to beat the presumptive Democrat candidate. Will the corporate media simply ignore his campaign? Is there any path around such profound silence? Let's hope that one is found. Vote West!

As I commented to the NYT this mourning regarding their Reporting/Analysis:

Alan MacDonald

Alewive Court, Wells, Maine 2h ago

Former President, Trump, was indicted on 31 counts of the Espionage Act, which was described by Chip Gibbons of RightsandDissent.org, this mourning on Amy Goodman's TV program "Democracy Now", regarding "Reform Of the Espionage Act" in his forthcoming book, "The Imperial Bureau".

Mr. Trump, before running and winning the Presidency in 2016, was oft characterized as being pictured, by his supporters, on social media as being an Emperor, oft characterized in the image of Roman Emperors, and diagnosed over time by many psychiatrists, and DSM-5, as having a plethora of mental disturbances — which was also characteristically common of many Roman Emperors.

The question in my mind is whether President/Emperor Trump after ascending to the power of the world's most powerful President, or in his mind, an Emperor, had ever read enough Roman History and/or confusing it with actual Roman History — actually understood how many Roman Emperors had exited the Roman Empire through various sorts of actions developed and carried-out by the Praetorian Guard — which in more modern times had been similarly carried-out by powerful, even 'Great States' [Paul Kennedy's "Rise and Fall of the Great States"], which in post 1944, Second World War States of "The Quiet American" Empire employed various far more modern camouflaged politically quiet, economically non-violent, and/or excellently disguised actions which could be described as a disguised "Quiet Imperial Bureau" of acronyms.

"These 'TIMES' they are a-changing" -- hopefully some-day.
