it seems to me that the graphics in a video not-so-subtly influence how I receive the info. Likewise with podcasts, somehow the tone, tempo, and timbre of the voices inflects the message. Did Marshall McLuan say the "medium is the message"? Or, am I mis-remembering that?
Thanks again Chris. Stefania Maurizi is a Woman of Courage - and her engagement with WikiLeaks and her insights from examining the troves of secret documents affecting countries and people around the world bear true testimony to the ugliness of the US war machine and its CIA skulduggery!
Brilliant interview, Chris. And important info provided by the very courageous Stefania Maurizi. It shows the important role of Assange and of the value of Wikileaks as a journalistic source.
In hindsight utilizing cryptography to shield sources from retaliation seems like such an obvious solution in an era of mass digital surveillance. You almost forget how novel and subversive that concept is in application - in no small part due to its complete incompatibility with our nascent panopticon. It makes sense the retribution for bringing a well-organized and publicized service like Wikileaks into existence has been so unhinged.
Looking forward to the transcript. I'd rather read than listen.
