Chris, you’re valuable to society and to me personally, for so much of what you do.

But your work in this field near breaks my heart. I don’t believe in saints for the most part, but if there’s a vote coming up for a new one, you can count on me.

I’ve seen American jails from the inside and of all the reasons I can think of to feel ashamed of my country, none is more powerful than this one.

Best to you, and thank you for your service.

Been a fan since 2002 when I left my NSA counterterrorism job and scholarship right after college to write a book arguing that the next wave of terrorism against America wouldn't come from the outside, but it would instead be an our own indigenous response to social injustice, as full campaigns of political terrorism usually began, likely nucleating around ex-cons because of how dehumanizing and radicalizing the American prison system had become.

And then as fate would have it, I ended up in prison myself several years later after coaching awhile and got to learn all about that firsthand, I spoke about my experiences here - your podcast brought back just about everything:

Then like so many others I struggled to build a life as a waiter in the Washington DC area after I got out, since although Prof. Laub at the University of Maryland met with me and encouraged me to apply to their Criminology PhD program, and despite my perfect GRE verbal - they rejected me and didn't encourage me to reapply.

Since I'd been my prison's special education aide for 20 months among other experiences I thought I'd have a unique perspective to offer the field, but after both the University of Maryland and Shaun Hopwood at Georgetown closed their doors in my face, hasn't seemed like there's much hope. I'd wanted to be involved with Georgetown's work in the DC jails since I was working down there anyways, but they never offered any interest in having me do anything at all. Apparently dudes who rob banks deserve second lives, not ones who while coaching a few years out of college get involved with a teenage girl who they know really well and care about a lot.

So once the pandemic hit I lost my waitering job, but managed to start writing, and with my dad editing we got the first peer-reviewed look at an engineered origin published back in August of 2020, and then its addendum a bit after, both of which focus on "serial passage" as the most likely tool used to create this virus:

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/bies.202100017

However absolutely everything we did was buried, which took a little while to wrap my head around, but it turns out that when everyone from the sitting Director of National Intelligence to Bill Gates know exactly what's going on, and they send Tony Fauci out to cover everything up (especially any mention of serial passage, which we now know was being discussed by Fauci et. al. in early 2020), the truth is a bit hard to get out there.

Especially when this is really a very, very long story, one which begins in an orphanage many decades ago, inside a helpless little boy named Charlton who was used to test a new live-attenuated vaccine against Polio - an OPV called "CHAT" - that was accidently built with cultures tainted with the chimp virus SIV, and then distributed across African testing villages. Because "serial passage" is nearly synonymous with vaccine work, especially live-attenuated vaccines and just as that Evil seeding the HIV/AIDS pandemic, so too has an experimental live-attenuated vaccine once again been designed incorrectly, and deattenuated too quickly:

Given your war reporting I don't think you'll imagine that's too crazy, especially when the genesis of all this traces directly back to the United States Military's long history burying this kind of thing. Thanks for spreading so much hope!!
