This is a sermon I gave on Sunday Aug. 20 in Oslo, Norway at Kulturkirken Jakob (St. James Church of Culture). Actor and film director Liv Ullmann read the scripture passages.
As a non believer I was moved to tears and I was moved to pray. The world is too much with me. So many sense everything Mr. (Rev) Hedges points out but choose to follow, in my opinion, a false prophet, Donald Trump. Once again I'm grateful for the knowledge and wisdom of Chris Hedges. May Julian and his family find peace if not justice.
The days of the U.S. Empire are drawing to a close on the killing fields of Ukraine and by the just concluded BRICS meeting which now includes six new members including Iran, Iraq, Egypt, and Argentina. The global South, Africa, Middle East and Eurasia are creating a multipolar world outside of the Wests control. The majority of the world’s population are done with living under the Empire’s so called rules based system. I hope Julian lives to see the Empire’s collapse.
Our continuing silence, our lack of anger, and our being bereft of courage, are our unconscious spiritual carcinogenic endorsements of the gangsters that rule our everyday life with their threatening instruments of tyranny, torture, terror, and their inescapable plague of the evil manifest in their Mammonism that governs their practice of Hell currently governing our national reality.
Let us ALL do our part to FREE Julian who had the courage to share the truth. "The truth will set you free!" john 8:31-32.
