When I was quite young at the end of Mass, we prayed for the "conversion" of Russia.

I am not sure what was meant by conversion, but recall that Russia was always "the other," and in movies etc was portrayed as evil, something to fear, to never seek parity with, to avoid.

The entire Russia-gate story was the epitome of hatred, and prejudice on daily display .

American Exceptionalism at its worse, looking back I realize that nearly my entire life I have been propagandized to hate Russia, it didn't work and I do not hate Russia.

I am repelled by my governments imperialism and its ever increasing need to dominate the world , to subjugate, really to murder those that get in the way , thus this proxy war.

I don't hate Russia either, I love her because she had great statemen like Lenin, Trotsky and Gorbachev and because of her enormous contributions to mankind in the arts and sciences.

It seems like the plan was 1) weaken or break Russia and break its ties with traditional allies, 2) get Europe’s energy needs and its corporations firmly under the control of the US, 3) enrich the weapons industry. It seems to me that the deliberate destruction of Ukraine was either intentional or an anticipated outcome to create investment opportunities for the biggest corporations and private equity investment groups, and

4) testing the efficacy of propaganda tools to rule us.

As usual well said. The narrator speaks clearly. The war machine has the Democrat voters wrapped around their fingers. As usual war is turned into a 'humanitarian' and 'freedom' cause. Freedom, kind of like the coup the west did in Ukraine in 2014, because the west loves 'democracy.' The other major component, of course, is doing anything that is anti-Russia. Yemen is being wiped out - which is aided by the U.S. - but Ukraine is such a concern for the right wing Democrats. The pathetic posturing they show only works on weak people. Adults see through the bullshit. Bomb the brown people, save the blue-eyed Ukrainians.

He has helped pollution (methane release during his term is very high), he has helped the oil lobby to gross record profits, he has helped raise Medicare advantage premiums with the sky high pricing of Aduhelm, he is personally neck deep in Ukraine first hand, he has delivered war, he has delivered transportation chaos leading to high inflation. While givng 100s billions to Ukraine and promising to rebuild there, he's gonna jack up healthcare with the ending of the pandemic declaration so that the middle class can really get screwed. He's great.

“The choice that we faced in Ukraine — and I’m using the past tense there intentionally — was whether Russia exercised a veto over NATO involvement in Ukraine on the negotiating table or on the battlefield,” said George Beebe, a former director of Russia analysis at the CIA and special adviser on Russia to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

The CIA’s Beebe follows with this almost unbelievable line:

“And we elected to make sure that the veto was exercised on the battlefield, hoping that either Putin would stay his hand or that the military operation would fail.”

What we are witnessing is a lesson on how to destroy a country and its people by giving it arms and allowing it to engage in incessant war at the expense of the people of the country and those nations who are backing the war. It tells me that humanity is NOT a civilized society yet, and that those in power are still operating with a cave man mentality. They are operating in a lower consciousness level, one that does not allow for diplomacy and one where might makes right. The obvious risk here is that other Baltic nations may take sides, and polarize the globe over this unnecessary war. No war is necessary where clear-headed beings are involved because they know their actions will affect all of humanity and not just their litt;le puny ego's. They know that when they hurt another human being they are hurting themselves. But this bunch is hell bent on fear mongering to ultimately scare the people into their Great Reset. This includes the Bill Gates threats of super viruses created by man and weaponized against the people. I wonder if he already has them in production as he seems very confident he is right. And the fact that no elite are ever subject to the problems confronted by the masses suggests that they are in fact creating these viruses. It's the old playbook of Create a Problem, watch the public reaction, and then offer one solution that will involve the people giving up all of their rights to be governed by Fascists who promise a dystopian state. "you will own nothing and be happy". The arrogance of those who make such statements is beyond belief, but that is what we have allowed to happen. Now we must stop it.

Yes, Ukrainians have the right to freedom and so do the Russian speaking Ukrainians of the eastern part of that country. We should have not intervened in their internal disputes. The reason why I like a strong Russia is that I believe in the balance of power to keep peace in our world. When we were the only possessors of nuclear bombs we rushed to incinerate the Japanese to "avoid deaths" according to our murderer president of the time,  And we would have continued to do the same if Russia and other nations had not acquired that power. Unfortunately it seems that the idiocy of our leaders and the greed of their bosses have grown so robust that not even the threat of global annihilation can stop them.

"...nobody around them wants to be with Russia."

Not only is this not true, this is the same argument that Nazis used with respect to Jews.
