Nearly two centuries ago in the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels defined the State, not as a neutral body standing above society with competing political parties, but as a political instrument of class domination, “a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie.”

Biden, a mere puppet for and of the ruling elite, is the representative for the transnational corporate class.

When one thinks of Biden think of Delaware and think DuPont, Dow Chemical, corporation creation, credit card companies and of course napalm.

Marx writes:

“As for the individual bureaucrat, the purpose of the state becomes his private purpose, a hunt for promotion, careerism.”

----- “Critique of Hegel’s Doctrine of State,” in Karl Marx: Early Writings, trans. Rodney Livingstone and Gregor Benton (New York: Vintage, 1975), 111.

Joe Biden is a loyal careerist who voted for the Vietnam and voted to send me to an imperialist war through the use of the draft.

He is a war criminal.

This move by Biden and the corporate state is just he beginning of an all out attack on working people and the growing labor movement and the very idea of socialism.

Add corrupt union leadership to the packet, (see the UC strike or New College (UAW) for how leadership sells out workers at the behest of giant corporations) along with financial capital and we have the solidification of the State, the corporations and the union leadership.

This is why Trump and the fascists remain popular.

The lack of any meaningful movement towards socialism in America is being capitalized on by the ethno-national, White colonial settler fascists.

Mussolini said it so well in 1935:

"Fascism recognizes the real needs which gave rise to socialism and trade-unionism, giving them due weight in the guild or corporative system in which different interests are coordinated and harmonized in the unity of the State."

Benito Mussolini, 1935, The Doctrine of Fascism, Firenze: Vallecchi Editore. (p.15)

Thank you Chris Hedges for this essential article. Your words are a single string of notes contrasting with the cacophonous noise made by the orchestra of the apocalypses; a very white noise indeed, that I suspect has the intention of hiding people's voices, specially after they begin to turn into screams. Your word/notes sound like a whistled tune on an empty city street. Let's hope that street gets full of people, for we know the tune. It's a march.

How come the clowns of the Democratic party in the Congress and the Senate are not ashamed by the fact that less developed countries than US provide sick leave for workers because it is the decent thing to do? A very strange country where folk tolerate such backwardness from its so-called "progressive" legislatures.

I am convinced. I always am. What good does that do? You are the master critic but how about becoming a critical master in conspiring with other hotshot about what to do. We the people. We just need some leadership. Won't you turn your marvelously astute attention to doing something about that?

There are two American chip companies, Analog Devices and Maxim Inc. that just merged. Their portfolios overlap 100%. There is one less company now with an engineering staff making chips and innovations. The plan, cut off China, then raise prices. Makes sense to oligarchs and politicians. But not for America.

They sanction the sales of chip making equipment to China. Short term interruption affecting future plans of Chinese manufacturers. Long-term boost for Chinese chip making equipment firms. What's the end goal? No long term obviously. But short-term is very short, and it ends with China eclipsing us.

All the railroad employees are fireable by the end of the year. When you get sick it usually lasts more than one day.
