The Democratic Party is hoping to thwart an election rout by running against the expected Supreme Court decision on abortion. This is depressingly all that is left of its political capital.
Time to stop contributing to all political campaigns. The partisan electoral system is completely corrupted, rigged, captured and broken. "Left" and "Right" have lost all meaning. The system, including the crazy-making corporate and big-tech media, needs to be purged. It will never be reformed from within. Only uncompromising direct non-partisan popular action and organizing now has any chance of even moving the needle.
I can now sit back and watch the empire crumble and know I can do nothing to stop it. The people, most unwittingly, were quietly ambushed decades ago by an oligarchic elite that now shamelessly drops its veil.
The current state of our country, the world is tragic. Meditating on the truth of your words gives some solace. ; a relief from the constant bombardment of lies. Direct action and our collective desire to know and say the truth is all that is left.
George Orwell has an essay called "Politics and the English Language" in which he says: The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable’.
Orwell has another essay called "What is Fascism?" which closes with him
saying: All one can do for the moment is to use the word with a certain amount of circumspection and not, as is usually done, degrade it to the level of a swear word.

These truths have risen to overwhelming consciousness and relentless awareness throughout the six decades of my youth and adult life, beginning in November 1963. 19yo in '68, with several more assassinations done and buried, I voted for the first time in my life for the losing candidate. I didn't vote again until 2016, a futile no-Trump vote. In 2020, for the first time, I voted my conscience by burning my ballot, sending the ashes back in the absentee return envelope that came with it.
According to the 6000-year Jewish calendar, today's date is 10 Iyar 5782. Sometime during the next 218 years, therefore, according to Orthodox Jewish theology, the "Messianic Age" will arrive. As Chris Hedges so clearly understands, Christian fascists are salivating in bloodlust to hasten the day of the Armageddon ushering in the "Second Coming of Christ Jesus." For me, being as I am a decidedly *dissident* Christian, this mythological cant and delusional rant are noise in the signal of rational truth about 21st century reality. A better measure of *REAL* time is the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' setting of their Doomsday Clock at its lowest level in its 75-year history in this past January -- 100 seconds -- for the 3rd year running.
Anyone who can't or won't wrap their heart, soul, mind, spirit, and strength around the imminent and immanent temporal reality of that recursive countdown is simply living on borrowed fantasy and delusion. Together with that premier scientific barometer, Hedges' brilliant journalism tells us the essential truths that have become as temporally inexorable as they are self-evident, morally bankrupt, and spiritually depraved beyond the pale of mere evil.
I am 63 years old. I was a Democrat when that meant a philosophy consistent with the values of JFK, MLK, and everyone of that era who upheld Constitutional rights and the Bill of rights in particular. I resigned and became unaffiliated after I witnesses absentee ballot tampering, by Democrats, Union workers changing voters votes for them despite their wishes because they were blind and could not see the ballot. I attempted to raise the question but was warned that I would never work in this state. I almost vomited. This was my party, doing things I thought only Republicans did. They all do it. It is known as a Cluster F__k. Today we live in an insane reality, where broad shifts in position occur daily in the political realm, and where the Constitution is paid lip service. No sane humanity can exist peacefully, unless if adheres to basic rules, and has someone to enforce those rules when some people violate the rights of others. This comes with a cost. The more people voluntarily adhere to the rules the less enforcement you need. Play fairly and you need none. Today we see confusion about one's self, one's sex, one's educational upbringing and those responsible for teaching values etc. We see the imposition of indoctrination of certain norms with no emphasis on independent critical thinking. To me this is an AGENDA being carried out by Ignorant Corporate Fascist Cabal Elites in their Imperialistic World Expansionism tactics. We must OVERTHROW the CORPORATE STATE.
