The U.S. is intervening in the Israel/Palestinian War, and we're funding those committing genocide.

"We" meaning the U.S. government needs to stop the flow of funding to those perpetrating these crimes. The question is what can "we" the PEOPLE do to stop our renegade government from aiding and abetting these criminals? The government has long ago stopped caring about the people and is now hell bent on doing whatever the Neo-cons who run it want.

There's no question that Israel's state terrorism targeting Gaza amounts to genocide. Thanks for presenting the case for those who remain skeptical despite the mounting death toll.

It's equally (and sadly) true that indigenous genocide is among the defining features of not only Israeli foreign policy, but also the creation of the global superpower that today enables it. Even America's most "progressive" state waged a relentless assault on civilian populations until barely a century ago. The importance of the parallel is rivaled only by its recurring tragedy. https://shahidbuttar.substack.com/p/indigenous-lives-matter-from-north

I use to watch those old Indian and cowboy movies on TV and couldn't understand as a child why the Indians were bad, and the cowboys were good. It seemed it should have been the other way round, since the land was theirs. After one of those movies I was half way out of my seat and realized my country was just lying to me. From then on when we pledged the flag at school I never said with liberty and justice for all because it was just another lie we told, and wouldn't you know all these years later they continue to lie as well as being culpable of helping to implement a genocide as well.

I’m impressed by the independence of your thinking at such a young age! If only more young people looked at mass media through the same moral lens that you did…

Well, to be honest my father was an abusive man who never wanted children, and I guess he let me know how abusive the world can sometimes be, and in no way am I going to identify with the abuser.

So very unconscionable - and unlike Nazi Germany - the atrocities are being reported on with each news cast. Also - both of the USA dominant political parties support the USA arms industries which receive huge taxpayer support. And then there is Elon Musk who - acvording to Naomi Klein - also rceives huge taxpayer subsidies. So the richest man in the world - financially speaking - receives lots of tax payer $ while those in need or sick get support and services cut. Not a recipe for stable government or sustainability on any level.

Blood testing is mandatory in the Olympics and should be the same for those in a presidential race. I mean what kind of drugs are these people on?

Anyone turning into Aljazeera and following Israel's assault on Gaza would see it as anything less then a genocide, and no matter the denials which allow it to continue, Israel will be known to have implemented a genocide. Through decades Israel has been trying to accomplish the same objective in the West Bank. When Netanyahu won in 2022 he said in regard to the West Bank that he will advance policies that will annex the West Bank, and that is what they and are continuing to do now and one of the reasons Hamas claims as a reason for it's assault. I really believe the scenario that Israel was forewarned of an impending attack by Hamas, warned by Egypt, warned by women border surveillance soldiers monitoring the gate which reported suspicious behavior by Hamas, but were ignored, as well as having the plans of the attack the year before. Everything was dismissed and no one seemed to be there for a good deal of the day which allowed Hamas to hit 20 towns. Recently Haaretz said the police claimed to warn them as well. I have no doubt they knew it was going to happen, let it happen, and even exaggerated the degree of abuse Hamas inflicted. I wonder why no one is looking at this seriously, or simply dismissing it.

Reinstate the Nuremberg tribunal. Too many fascist heads of state are committing genocides and ethnic cleansing from the Caucasus to the ME and Africa and with impunity, too. Every single one them is enabled by the West.

Nuremberg tribunal? We, USA, led the abolishing of any international law related of human rights. We don't even obey our own laws. The UN needs to be reformed and eliminate the veto power so it becomes truly democratic.

Thank you Chris Hedges and Albanese for this wonderful report on Genocide. Thank you for caring for the people of the world. It matters.

I disagree with Albanese when she states that Isareli people are victims of intergenerational trauma. Without denying the latter, they certainly are, it is very clear the population of Isarel in its majority, are undisturbed by the genocide taking place in Gaza. Yes, they are indoctrinated but they also believe in their being the chosen ones and therefore superior. They are deeply racist and say it openly to whoever wants to listen, they agree with erasing the Palestinians from Palestine, any settler can tell you they are superior and deserve the land God gave them, they are convinced Palestinians, or any non Jewish person are lesser beings destined to be their slaves. They have not a grain of empathy for what the Palestinians are enduring at their hands

The main founders and builders of Israel — David ben Gurion, Chaim Weizmann, Zeev Jabotinski, Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, Yitzhak Shamir, Menachem Begin, Shimon Peres — were in no way survivors of Nazi death camps or slave labour camps, were actually never subject to Nazi persecution since they had emigrated to safe places (USA, Palestine, UK…) well before that (Begin escaped in the nick of time), but took unashamedly advantage of the position of Jews as victims of the Nazis to further their national objectives.

They have played on their victimhood when they went after the "land without a people" and got it from a country still adherent to a colonial mindset with plenty of disdain for Arabs and Muslims. Israeli's have used the Holocaust to implement their multiple attacks on the Palestinians through the years and continue to do so having everyone trained to call any criticism of her as anti-Semitic Hopefully the world will wake up to the many abuses she has inflicted on a people. I also wish the US will wake up as well, and kick the neocon agenda on it's ass.

IMO, the irony is that many of the Palestinians whose ancestors converted to Islam are the descendents of the original Jews of the land and now are being murdered by the Jewish descendents of converted Khazars to Judaism who have not any semitic origen. The following quote is from the book "The Invention of the Jewish People" by Shlomo Sand:

"Among the Poale Zion membership, the political-ideological movement led and shaped by Borochov, were two gifted young men whose names would become famous. In 1918, when David Ben-Gurion and Itzhak Ben-Zvi were staying in New York, they wrote a sociohistorical book entitled Eretz Israel in the Past and in the Present.... It was well researched, and its statistical material and bibliographic sources were impressive. But for its passionate nationalistic tone, it might have been an ordinary academic work. Israel’s future prime minister contributed two-thirds of the text, and the rest was written by the future president. The second chapter, which dealt with the history and present situation of the fellahin, was composed by Ben-Gurion in full agreement with his coauthor. They wrote, in complete confidence, Historical reason indicates that the population that survived since the seventh century had originated from the Judean farming class that the Muslim conquerors had found when they reached the country. The fellahin are not descendants of the Arab conquerors, who captured Eretz Israel and Syria in the seventh century CE. The Arab victors did not destroy the agricultural population they found in the country. They expelled only the alien Byzantine rulers, and did not touch the local population. Nor did the Arabs go in for settlement. Even in their former habitations, the Arabians did not engage in farming … They did not seek new lands on which to settle their peasantry, which hardly existed. Their whole interest in the new countries was political, religious and material: to rule, to propagate Islam and to collect taxes.120"

During the administration of Obama/Biden, and Bush/Cheney you had one war after another that killed and displaced millions, and the horrors they implemented go on. Trump comes along and becomes their perfect scapegoat that democrats and other politicians can use as a needed villain to divert attention away from all they destroyed in this world, and continue to set an agenda of world wide hegemony, no matter the cost to human life. A perfect example is Cheney's daughter parading him around as if he were a folk hero, instead of a man who inflicted great suffering on so many people in this world, or a war mongering Clinton who laughed of hearing of Gaddfi's death, and set the stage for his overthrow, and the destruction of Libya, one of many of her destructive accomplishments, and yet she can sit back in an old lounge chair and warn the world that Trump is a fascist. I certainly am not saying he's perfect or anywhere close, but I hate the game the democrats played, continue to play and the left who bought it and helped push it, and continue to do so, even as the Biden administration is complicit in implementing a genocide.

I certainly am familiar with out past wars, covert wars, etc, but I specifically referenced the wars of the 21 st century based on the point I was making in regard to Trump. Also I just read Biden referred to Trump supporters as garbage and that is the message in one form another was conveyed very strongly. Good grief!

We are every bit as responsible for this as they are. We enable them and have stayed mostly silent. We are as bad as Germans who did nothing during the holocaust. Worse even. Until you can admit you are one of the bad guys, change isn’t very likely.
