Well said and accurate insights. We need to deprogram the Dems as well as the Rebs but not sure if it's possible. Dems think if they can just grab that ball in the midterms they can figure out how to win the game later. Except it's a much different game now and that ball is no longer in play.

Chris, almost the entirety of American citizenry is a cult. Cults don't need a leader, a stacked narrative, an unquestioned mythology will suffice. We are convinced we did or now live in a democracy, that our constitution protects liberties for all and ensures government checks and balances, that our founders were unselfish advocates for freedom for all and government by the people for the people. The vast majority o Americans "drink the Koolaid", the preferred beverage of the cult as they recite the scripture "my nation good or bad". If people took time to read a lot of history and discovered how our rule of law continually and intentionally destroys lives, they would not sleep until a constitutional convention was called every 15-20 years in an exercise of creative destruction.

This is not Trump's doing. He did not create MAGA which is not even a movement but a faction and as it's now known, not a very permanent faction. If you think those who voted for Trump will die for him politically or at the polls again, then I know you are not speaking often and directly to the voters who put him in office. Their gripes and needs are real. Trump simply asked what they wanted in a car and then sold them a car. That's not a Trump cult, that's the American cult.
