What a hero this woman is and everyone who has prototested against the Zionest who are committing genocide. Israel: an entire nation of religious zealotry, nationalism, and apartheid, all enforced by a militarized structure. I don't think a country like that should exist!

Steve Woodward's avatar

The country you've described sounds just like this one - the US

susan cartwright's avatar

I fear you are correct. The USA has gone full on authoritarian. And these MAGA supremacists only support white MEN.

Competent women, disabled, veterans, gay, POC, minorities, & anyone "non standard" sexually?

"Those DEI people" should work as min-wage slaves, be deported, trafficked, incarcerated, or die.

Israel is full of Jewish supremists (Zionists). Colored Jews (like the Ethiopians) were sterilized without their consent.

The US is on an irreversible course to collapse and fall.

Zohran Mamdani, who is running for mayor of NYC, gives me hope. It is a THEM and US narrative: the million and billionaires vs the other 90% living in NYC. They are throwing antisemitism, racial slurs you name it at him. Nothing sticks. If he wins there is hope for America. Crossing fingers.

I used to wonder why Israel asserted its ‘right to exist’. Now I know Israel better I understand why; knowing how truly awful (most of) it is it got its ‘right to exist’ assertion in before the rest of the world woke up to its satanic ways.

Now we know how awful it is I too feel Israel has ‘no right to exist’.

The Nazis also punished those who spoke out, as the members of the Trump and Netanyahu administration's both know full well..

Note the America's european catamites (including among others Albanese's homeland of Italy) sit silent and do not raise so much as a peep.

She comes from Compania in southern Italy, "Following Italy’s unification in the 1860s under the family of Savoy, the Country faced many hardships through its maturity. One prime example being the tension and divisions between the northern and southern parts of Italy due to differences such as wealth, and racist notions created to perceive southerners as lesser humans." You should read articles in the old NY Times which I believe was under different ownership, but now they are more alike. They would write such degrading things about the people of Sicily and southern Italy as if they were animals.

Feral Finster's avatar

Oh, it's no secret that northern Italians looked down upon southern Italians, and napolitani looked down upon siciliani.

One sees a similar dynamic in Latin America.

Has anyone nominated Francesca for the Nobel Peace Prize? She definitely merits it.

Richard Doherty's avatar

The Nobel Peace Prize has become a joke. It has long lost its meaning. It would be more of an honor not to be nominated.

wally jasper's avatar

Yes, you're totally right. I was thinking that by Francesca winning it, the true meaning and purpose of it would be restored and people would realize that now it was real again and the world was shifting back on track to honoring those who stood for justice, goodness and all the noble and honorable qualities that humans used value and aspire to live by. It would be a victory for the people over the Empire. (Of course, as you are pointing out, the Nobel committee is the Empire and they only honor their own kind. This is just wishful thinking on my part.)

Thank you for that reminder. I will leave my "liked" with the comment, though, in support of Wally's intent.

A values statement & reset is worth a try.WHERE is the moral outcry?

What gives a president of the United States the right to sanction an individual foreign national? What law allows this, how is it legal? Can Vladimir Putin sanction any individual he wants? The voices calling for an end to the genocide and justice for the long-suffering Palestinian people are few. Chris Hedges is one, and Francesca Albanese is another. They pay a price for their morality and courage.

Rebel Nun's avatar

No, there are millions calling for an end to the genocide. It is only the mainstream media that manipulates our perception of popular opinion.

Joe Bacon's avatar

Six corrupted crooks on the Supreme Court will say that as long as Trump declares it an official act it's legal.

Steve Woodward's avatar

Great conversation just released today between Francesca Albanese and Naomi Klein on Zeteo. Well worth watching.

Francesca Albanese

Luv you and what you are doing. We need more loud voices shouting these truths.

Lindsey Louther's avatar

Ms Albanese is virtually a lone voice in an otherwise moribund and castrated United Nations. The fact that she receives daily death threats, is treated as an enemy of the state by Israel and is now being sanctioned by the United States, is proof that she is doing a lot right. She has my support and admiration for exposing the many atrocities committed by the axis of evil i.e. the United States, Israel and the United Kingdom and staying on the path of truth and justice.

"The person who knows only personality is not aware of how insensitive and callous he is. ....From the perspective of essence he is a brute, without sensitivity...the loss of essence...lead(s) to a general but devastating loss of perspective..this loss of perspective and orientation...leads to the loss of reality. The individual sees only illusions, follows only illusions, for he takes these illusions to be reality...The most important and tragic aspect of this loss of reality is the loss of what it is to be a complete human being, an individual who has not lost his human element, his essence...An individual who is not being, who is not being essence, is not really existing. He is not in touch with existence because existence...is the deepest aspect and characteristic of essence...The deepest nature of personality is a deficiency, a hole. an absence, a nonexistence." (p.100-101, Almaas.Essence.Samuel Weiser, Inc York Beach, Maine.) The USA is led by such people. Francesca Albanese capacities are those in the direction of a "complete human being...one who has not lost her essence."

Fran's avatar

The US and their condemnation of those who speak out against the genocide in Gaza are not only protecting Israel, but the US as well, since it is totally complicit in it. We condemn people who march against it, and reference them as antisemitic, but that condemnation is used to protect the US as well. I really like Francesca Albanese but I was wondering does it also condemn the US in being totally complicit in this loathsome destruction of humanity?

AIPAC owns a significant part of our soul and makes decisions for us via the politicians it supports, which are politicians that are pro-Israel, while it strongly opposes those that are not. AIPAC should really come into the conversation when the genocide in Gaza is spoken about.

Selina Sweet's avatar

Brutes - all - lead the USA today. Low - lowest on the ladder of "human development."

Joe Bacon's avatar

The retribution is going to come and sting Trump in the ass real soon when the dollar is dumped as the reserve currency, Foreigners dump US stocks and Treasury securities. Trump will be backed in a corner unable to finance the National Debt and he will default on it. That will melt down the stock markets and we will have a New Depression in the US.

CityguyUSA's avatar

The hate that's directed toward her must be awful.

John Ressler's avatar

Hate directed at her for the truths she speaks is awful - their sanctioning further exposes them - she is on the correct/moral side of international law; they clearly are not.

CityguyUSA's avatar

I just don't get this whole theory that these Evangelicals are behind this because they want to kickstart the rapture. Seriously? They don't think they're going to hell even if the accomplish their task? And the Zionists are excited to bring it on because it means that the Jews will be slaughtered for not converting to Christianity. This is bat shit crazy stuff.

John Ressler's avatar

So bat shit crazy, that I give it no energy - makes my head hurt. These are some seriously crazy MFer's. They may end up making this world a living hell.

Other Nations now regard the U.S. as an Authoritarian Regime, ruled by a mentally unstable leader. Every day something ‘unthinkable’ is said or done by our President. There is factual and grossly ‘un’ factual reporting by Foreign & U.S. Press. But it seems that we Americans are reading our own tragic demise and wringing our hands, with NO ONE in this Country able or willing to stand up and say STOP!!! ‘All Americans who love Democracy, Freedom, human rights and the Rule of Law, and who hate the Direction, (downwards and Backwards) that our Country is headed in this Administration….Let us put down our petty differences and UNITE to stop this destructive Administration.’ There are ways, other than Arms, that a powerful Movement, with a Strong, Courageous and Inspirational Leader can do a great deal to save our Nation…

Fran's avatar

Judy how is this administration in regard to assisting Israel in a genocide any different from the previous one, which also set the standards in terms of the degree of assistance they were willing to provide, and the degree of carnage they were willing to allow Netanyahu to implement? This is not the time to make Trump a scapegoat once again. The atrocities committed by Israel in regard to Palestinians has a very long history under many administrations which looked the other way, so to speak. One could also reference our use of Ukrainian lives to bring down Russia as a kind of genocide, because they are perceived as worthless, and that got underway during the Biden administration although we like to call it a proxy war. We use their lives to achieve our ends and no doubt do to a perception of them as worthless.

Jo Waller's avatar

Hiya, butting in here. Trump and his team are no worse and no better than Biden and his. They are both controlled by the US interests in fossil fuels, arms, animal ag, pharma, tech and media. However, when the public want action on the climate crisis and global inequality they can be fobbed off with 'left' hypocrisy, greenwashing and neo-liberal, neo-colonial exploitation. This was the case before 2020 when the environmental movement was very strong. Industry either used or created the OTT measures over 'covid' to create a strong backlash against 'left' hypocrisy and towards the far-right, MAGA, anti-immigration and support for destroying regulations that harm industry's profits. This is what they got. Trump of course continues with the proxy wars but also cuts budgets and regulations, is openly white supremacist, openly supports industry. No more hypocrisy but acceleration into climate and environmental collapse.

Fran's avatar

What I hated during Trump's first term in office, which is being repeated during his second is that he is the root cause of all that is wrong with America, as she says, "Let us put down our petty differences and UNITE to stop this destructive Administration." It's as if nothing of consequence proceeded him which negates all of our middle eastern wars, and interestingly enough wars enumerated in Netanyahu's book, Fighting Terrorism, written in the mid 1990's. He also pushed the lie that Saddam was a threat and pursuing a nuclear weapon. Biden as Chair of the Foreign Relation's comm pushed the lie that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction down the throats of his fellow democrats. Interesting that all the wars we fought during this century were enumerated in Netanyahu's book. Obama also followed this agenda and took out Gaddafi on a lie then funneled weapons to Syria and eventually gave us another war, Timber Sycamore. Of course the coup in Ukraine implemented under Obama now has Ukraine in a war with Russia and we feed her weapons to carry on, and forget about the hundreds of thousands who are now dead. Russia-gate a total lie fabricated by Clinton is also forgotten as is it's consequences, not to mention the FBI's role in this lie. I could go on, not even referencing war, but I think you get my perspective as to why adopting a simplistic attitude of Trump is all that is wrong with America has no bases in reality, and is ultimately dangerous to adopt such a narrow perspective. this attitude is repeating it's 2016-2020 run even on Facebook.

Jo Waller's avatar

Trump is the epitome and perfect representation of the Empire at this stage. Openly selfish, entitled, racist, sexist, arrogant, supremacist, blustering, egotistical, short-sighted and stupid.

Fran's avatar

What do you think you accomplish by phrasing your position in such black and white terms, and without context. Nothing!

Jo Waller's avatar

I’m not saying that Biden wasn’t equally stupid and isn’t a demented puppet of the deep state (ie US commercial interests in fossil fuels etc). But his administration payed lipservice to equality and inclusion, to addressing the climate crisis and pretended that American intervention was all about democracy. Indeed their greenwashing and hypocrisy (and the covid measures though the lockdowns and jab mandates started under Trump 1.0), (and deliberate stirring of fears over immigration and the trans gender issue) was cleverly used to create fear of a left wing conspiracy controlling us with renewables; that helped to get a climate crisis denier into the White House.

Now Washington openly says deport the immigrants, giving women the vote was a bad idea, burn baby burn, screw the Chinese peasants and America fuck yeah!

What i’m hoping to achieve is people waking up to how we got here.

I have enormous respect and admiration for Francesca Albanese. She exhibits great courage by speaking the truth at a time where very little truth telling is taking place. She needs the support of everyone who cares about honesty, truth, morality and justice! There is an excellent interview of Albanese by Naomi Klein on Zeteo.

Can you recommend a book that will explain to me why Israel can deliver such harsh treatment on Palestinians after their suffering during the Holocaust?
