Israel and its neoconservative allies in the United States have long attempted to start a war with Iran, a war that neither Israel nor the U.S. can win and will engender ferocious blowback.
Why are military interventions in the Middle East (Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan etc) always viewed from the lens of western humiliation and the cost to western tax payers.
In between that is death and destruction. Millions upon millions of Iraqis, Afghanis, Syrians, Libyans bombed, blown up, burned, buried. Then millions more form starvation, poisoning and sickness; men, women and children.
Countries destroyed, societies unraveled. Chaos ensue and countries devolve into civil war.
THAT is the real cost. That is always the plan. The west came, destroyed and destabilized the Middle East and now labels it unstable. Spreading chaos is the policy. A stable country without wars will prosper but that cannot be allowed. That is not for brown and black people. Just look at China. Imagine if there was no US or Israel in the Middle East, it would be competing with Europe. But that is not acceptable.
So here we are. The last resort. Fight. Fight for your independence, fight for your survival, fight for your future generations.
All our Middle Eastern Wars were fought for the benefit of Israel which Jeffery Sach's spells out very clearly in his discussion on you-tube with Tucker Carlson. If you read the book by Netanyahu, written back in 1995, Fighting Terrorism, it identifies those countries that pose a threat, and are defined as terrorist states, and are to be destroyed. Iran is included, and always has been. Interesting that The Project for a New American Century claims that in order to set things in motion all they would need is a New Pearle harbor, and of course they got that on 9/11. General Wesley Clark: Wars: Seven Countries In Five Years You-tube, which also tells you this was planned a long time ago, but until now we never got to Iran.
P. S. Mearsheimer: “The Israelis understand that if you have a general conflagration, people will not be paying much attention to the Palestinians,” Mearsheimer said. “People will be willing to give Israel more of a pass than they would in peaceful times. So let's really ramp things up. Let's have a general conflagration, and the end result will be that we can cleanse, on a massive scale, in Gaza and hopefully in the West Bank as well.”
Israel has had Iran on their hit list for decades and if anything does not divert my attention away from their genocidal attack on Gaza and the West Bank, but makes them more horrific and a total danger to world peace, and it disgusts me that the US is working in total complicity with them and has for decades pushed by a neocon agenda which does not operate in the best interests of the US at all.
In the process of destroying the others we are also destroying ourselves, so we have also lost a great deal, not to mention all the young men and women who died in those wars that never had to be fought and were pushed by a neocon agenda with Israel's best interest at heart.
Lets not forget our government used American lives in their wars to kill others, and we have elected officials like Linsey Graham who seem to gloat over wars and death. Dead at the hands of an American government, and many Americans are also dead at their governments hands. In WWI who do you know who fought that war, well if you guessed Blacks and those Europeans who came from the south and east of Europe you would be right. Do you know how we got Columbus day? Well, 11 Italians found innocent of the crime of killing the chief of police down in New Orleans were lynched by a mob and that made Italy really mad to the point of a possible war, so that's how we got Columbus Day. We have treated our own citizens like crap though generations and continue to do so. I think we shouldn't forget Americans in this discussion who are also victims of our government.
Isn't it time to put names to those "neocons" who have our American government by the throat? Yes. There's AIPAC. But, I want this anonymously constituted Neocon Fraternity to have its veil ripped off so we can see exactly what demented hearts and minds are destroying so many millions of people and their homes and land while also contributing to the frying of our climate and own well being. These "neocons" must not be allowed to connive in secret and in anonymity - Each one must become known to us citizens. And if the population of the Deep State includes these, then we must learn who they are. What justice is it that they be allowed to operate secretly when their influence on all of us is ultimately so dire?
They don't operate undercover. Also there is more to it then what Greenwald discusses in the link below. I can't find the interview between Jeffery Sachs and Tucker Carlson, but also very informative. Initially as Greenwald said they were on the side of the republicans, but now very supportive of the democrats, and why Biden said Putin has got to go. Bringing down Russia is on their agenda. World dominance is on their agenda. During the Obama administration we implemented a coup in Ukraine, which was portrayed as we're just helping them get rid of Yanukovych, a pro-Russian president, who is just no good. However look at the end results of that coup. In the Biden administration Blinken was a neocon as was Nuland, married to Kagan and both neocons. It's the same political mindset which gave us the war in Iraq and all our Middle eastern wars which benefited Israel. Iran was on that hit list, but we didn't quite get to it, but now we are finishing up, although that will not be the end game either.
A Neocon Monster: The Ruinous Lies & Crimes of Bill Kristol | SYSTEM UPDATE
It is the American taxpayers whose tax money is used to fund Israel dirctly for its military activities. The neocons have coveted Iranian oil and are using Israel as a proxy to take control. Either way the price of a barrel of crude brought up from the ground is going to increase by more than 50% in the coming days and that money is coming out of the pockets of everyone in the USA.
There is also the notion of blowback and the result of the United States stationing its soldiers around the globe was 9-11. No free lunch with war.
I’ve come to the point where I doubt I would weep one single tear if Israel was wiped from the face of the earth. And the same goes for the USA. At 70 years old, I look forward to leaving this hell realm. I’d rather take my chances in the afterlife now. Hopefully it is akin to an eternal dreamless sleep. In the meantime I will keep socializing cats at our local cat sanctuary to keep sane.
I’m grateful to be 82 years old. Like you, I would shed no tears nor rend no garments if Israel and - yes - the U.S. completely collapse. I’ve watched the downfall of the U.S. for years and have tried to warn people to expect it to fail, maybe in my lifetime. Instead of acknowledging my warnings, people have accused me of catastrophizing. I’m constantly amazed/appalled by people who aren’t passionately condemning the genocide that is being committed by the U.S. government. Instead they’re now telling me to pray for Israel, as are most politicians. I put part of the onus on the MSM. If not for Twitter and independent journalists like Chris, maybe I wouldn’t know the truth.
I appreciate your words and your passion. I am 65, and I too feel so sickened by all of these madmen like Felon Trumph, running our world into an early grave. All for power, to feed their hubris, for treasure at the cost of millions of lives. I have three grandchildren. I worry for them and other loved ones so much. It makes me so angry. I have spoken out against the genocide, and have been called every name in the book fir being a terrorist, a "hater of Jewish people" and a Nazi. My father's family fled their home in Germany from the Nazis!! I am also ready to see Israel and the USA with its military complex go down in flames. Despite the seeming futility, I will continue to speak out to and rail against this madness.
I wish you and everyone well with the future that lies before us.
Michael Brenner of U. Pittsburg today sent out his newsletter of his psychological analysis of our "leaders" which is well worth reading...and may help in understanding the denial/inertia of those fellow citizens minimizing not only the death-kill but also
their responsibility as adults and citizens of the USA and world.
Susan, I'm 70, but I feel as though you and I must be twins. I contact my legislators daily in the cause of peace; have done for years. Now I supply with some "suggested wording" about 200 people around the world who also want to harangue their (supposed) representatives. Please email me if you'd like to join our international circle of harangue-ers. I surely would benefit greatly from your input! KathleenTempleTailor@gmail.com All the best to you, Susan. -Kathleen
Kathleen, your efforts are greatly appreciated and necessary but please allow my curiosity be fed a little: have you ever received any meaningful response from your representatives to your letters ? I have not neither from the federal nor the state (supposed) representatives. When they answer back it is advertising how great they are and including me in their mailing list.
hi Julio, It would be great, sure, to have meaningful responses directly from the Representatives and Senators. I can often see that they are cognizant of my concerns but of course I don't know whether that's from my input or others or all of the input together. When I receive emails/letters from them, the material is almost always them tooting their own horns. Still, I feel compelled to never stop lobbying them and I hope lots of other people will join voices together to have some impact. You can see my daily "Peace Bit" prompts where I archive them: KathleenTemple.wordpress.com. The first one you'll see is today's.
Susan when we talk about the US we are talking about hundreds of millions of people, and if the US collapses those that brought about it's collapse will not suffer, but the people of this country certainly will, and it matters not what their political beliefs were and whether you approve of their perspective on things. You're 82, and one would think you would imbue human life with a more concerned perspective.
Fran….You are missing the entire point of Susan Becraft’s post. The United States is a country of mostly white ppl living a life of entitlement and chasing celebrity and false realities of “importance”. EVERYTHING all citizens need to know is before their eyes, now more than ever with our technology driven news access. But most ppl chose to ignore the realities our government plays around the world and feel they can still live “safely” in their bubble of consumption, baby making and gas guzzling. The collapse of Empire is what Mr Hedges exposes and you are getting your little feelings hurt. Get a backbone where your wishbone is. The USA has earned what’s coming for it.
Well, dear Kathy let me just say your perspective is skewed and no doubt based on your own experiences. Maybe if you taught environmental science in schools, had a degree in nursing and worked with abused children for decades your perspective might be quite different, and certainly if you knew your American history and what people who came to this country endured your perceptions would also be more aligned with reality. Not to mention the many millions of Americans who are living in poverty as you spew your sermon. You come across like many phony liberals who sit back in judgement of their fellow Americans and enjoy tearing them to pieces, feeling a sense of their own superiority. You disgust me!!!!!!!!!
This "dialogue" is splintering people from each other. Isn't what matters is that each of us do what we can to inhibit the train wreck of intentions of adolescent-minded narcissists and neocons bonded with Zionists - whether Christian or Jewish who long for war as a solution to their obsessions? Of course it is natural to want what frustrates to be "eliminated" - whether it's an attitude, an action, a law, a pattern, a consciousness, a person. There is a huge difference between having a thought/wish/want and acting it out. What matters most at this point is cohesion in service of strengthening our democracy (which today is a shadow of itself) into a creative bulwark that simultaneously protects government of, by, for the people and nourishes human/creative/development. If you were to pin point the single most destructive force in the world today, what would that be? Then, pin point what makes that force powerful? Then, pin point what needs to be added and what needs to be eliminated in order to suck the life out of that force? What can make it collapse? Imagine. This might be the moment the evolutionary force is demanding us to imagine/think/intuit out-of-the-box. We need to be channeling the creative force, not wasting time on splitting hairs.
Stop it! You're feeding the side car or the ditch. Keep focused on what our situation is demanding of us. Name calling is a destructive detour and off the point. You know that is true. We need you. You're smart. You're on. We must find a way to accept like minded people who are a little different from us. And keep our eye on what most needs to happen to cut the momentum toward war. We need to find gratitude that the "other" is there at our side however imperfect instead of a vacancy brought on by numbness masking terror.
Zzzzzz. Drop your pretense. You clearly misunderstand The Chris Hedges Report and fail to see, yes see and hear what’s being commented on. Nice try. Move on
I don’t have to “prove” to you dear Franny or Franmsn what my history is and my understanding of America’s genocide. Every ginger you have pointing at “me/other” in disgust you have 3 flaming back at you. The USA shouldn’t be immune as citizens from the horrid and danger we finance and devise around the world.
The American empire is going down. There is nothing anyone can do about it. History happens, empires come and go. This one is on the way down.
My first American ancestor came to North America in 1611. My ancestors fought in the revolutionary war on the side of the republic, the civil war on the Union side, my grandfather served in France in WWI, my father a combat vet of WWII, my loved one in was drafted, killed in Vietnam…and I am not sorry to see America go down as an empire.
I have lived and/or worked in various countries in the Global South, in Africa and Asia. I have seen what the U.S. Empire has done to people around the world. We are not the spunky crew on the good ship Enterprise. We are the evil empire, folks.
A people whose country is committing genocide, and is okay with it, is sociopathic.
Those of us who speak out, protest, do civil disobedience, are not treated like patriots, but rather as if we are at best wrong headed, or we are antisemitic, terrorists, the reason Trump got elected, Hamas supporters, whatever…
The indifference, denial, the ethic of self interest (the most pernicious and soul eating of all) sickens me. The moral rot is evident for all the world to see…I was happy among the people whose countries we smashed…they had hearts, and took care of one another, and taught me that there is a big world out there, and the U.S. is not the greatest…only the one with the biggest military…
The U.S.exports two things: fossil fuels (death) and military weapons (death).
We are, with our nuclear proxy Israel, a pariah state, now hated, according to military intelligence, by 4 billion people in the world because of the destruction we have waged, and the last straw is Gaza.
4 billion is half the global population, the other 4 billion are children…🇵🇸
I don't disagree with you Kathryn in terms of the direction in which we are going, and I'm very on board with you in regard to what is going on in Gaza. I was as active as I could be in the anti-war movement during our Middle Eastern wars, but of course the movement died rather quickly with nothing accomplished.
As a child I use to watch those old cowboy and Indian movies on TV and never understood why the Indians were bad and the cowboys good, since this land belonged to the Indians, and I saw the cowboys as thieves. I soon came to realize my country just lies to me. Since I was seven and pledged the flag when it came to the meaningless phrase with liberty and justice for all I never said it, ever. Believe it or not at age 7 I decided my country is it's people, but not it's government. I'm well aware of people's failings, but my life has been dedicated in many ways to them, and I really don't care what they think about things political, not really. I know of the failings you talk about, but it is not the people who will have this country in ruins. Many are victims of this society now, and that day may come when we all are. It's sad.
one can't help wanting to see the Israeli population get a dose of what they have been dishing out, a long overdue comeuppance - maybe then they will emulate what the Italians did to their fascist warmonger Mussolini, and get some lampposts and nooses prepared. But Netanyahu will probably take the cowards way out before that happens, claiming like Hitler, that "his" people were just not up to the task he set them.
Ten years ago -- no, eleven, during a previous assault on Gaza -- someone came by our anti-Occupation vigil in front of the Israeli consulate in Toronto who asked what life was like for Israeli Jews. I said, "They're fine. They go to work, they go to school, they go to the beach, they go to the mall. The Occupation doesn't touch them."
@chris leeds: could it be that MSM in israel have been doing a very thorough job at brainwashing the vast majority of israelis into believing that they are under CONstant threats by outside "amalekites!" and other enemies of all sorts? also, the IDF does its unfair share of misinforming soldiers and reservists to that effect. don't you think that, if larger parts of the population knew what was really going on, they would NOT endorse the settler colonial agenda any longer? [or am i too optimistic?]
in january 2024, chris hedges interviewed miko peled, former member of IDF special forces, and the son of an israeli general. a very moving interview which illustrates peled's change of heart & mind following eye-opening encounters w palestinians. also, there are peace activists in israel who surely don't have an easy task at hand.
while it might be tempting to long for "a long overdue comeuppance", i wonder: would that really help cure plagues like desires for supremacy, racism, greed?
at last we are seeing even more ordinary Israelis taking to streets and protesting as the reality penetrates the propaganda. I think a comeuppance might at least take the form, as it did in Germany after the war, where people were forced on to buses to go to the camps and witness what was there. I think a tour through the ruined towns and cities, with someone pointing out where children were or still are buried under the rubble, what used to be schools or hospitals would be a salutary lesson.
of course, germans who said "we didn't know about the concentration camps!" were quite shocked to discover what many pretended not to see. quite unfortunately, though - and CON_trary to decades of official efforts to come to terms with and account for this gruesome past - germany has NOT drawn the proper lessons from it.
how else could germany allow israel to turn into an apartheid state? allow israel to establish what many call 'the largest open air concentration camp in west asia'? how could they allow israel to break int'l. law for decades and enjoy total impunity? how can germany repeat the mantra that "israel has a right to defend itself!", when int'l. law clearly states that the right to self-defense is granted nations within their national boundaries only? how can germany label every critical word re. israel's politics as 'antisemitism'? how can german decision makers watch hundreds of thousands of palestinians being slaughtered, maimed, traumatized, starved, when NOT ONE of them is to blame for the holocaust?
when signs pointed towards conflict in the kosovo in 1998, as a german, i remember how appalled i was to hear our then foreign minister [from the green party!] equate events in the city of srebrenica with auschwitz - of all places! - just to get us in the mood for war!
in my view, germany - instead of advocating for peace, human rights, equality, zero double standardry re int'l. law to make up for at least a fraction of the damage it did - dishonors every single victim of the shoa now and has not come to terms with its past, alas! ALAS!
When you talk about countries being wiped off the face of the earth, you are talking about people being wiped off the face of the earth, which I do care about, and unfortunately those that created this possible reality will find safe haven elsewhere or even with the confines of the country they came to destroy.
Sorry, it seems to me too many are kind of lashing out at people in general. I just had an interchange with someone who was very condemning of the American people and more or less spoke of their indifference as they wallow in the life of luxury. I guess I don't know those kind of wallowers. No, the government of the US and Israel are to be held to account. However I am surprised that more then 85 percent of the people of Israel are in agreement with their government and the genocide which is not easy to hear.
Right now Mike Huckabee is hiding in the US Embassy safe room praying to The Big G that this is the start of Armageddon and that JC will turn on his Holy Hoover Vacuum Cleaner and rapture him to Hay-Venn...
I’ve never understood why these folks believe The Big G would welcome them after they cheered on and took part in the killing of millions of their fellow humans. But then I never have understood such crazy nonsense. I have also wondered if they so believe in being welcomed by The Big G why don’t they simply take their own lives and leave the rest of us alone. They’re just a bunch of crazy hypocrites.
Never mind that "The Rapture" is unbiblical, twisted theology. Never mind its smug, prideful glee in the destruction of all humans except them plus billions of biosphere innocents. Never mind love thy neighbor, let alone love thine enemy.
As someone among the verboten letters LGBTQ, I'm in agreement with lesbian comedian Susanne Westenhoefer. Who said of Rapture believers: "Well, lots of us are joyfully looking forward to you being lifted away!"
Love this post! The big jc has been dead for centuries. What could “he” possibly be waiting for he hadn’t already seen and was killed by all those centuries ago. What a feckless way to live huckster Huckabee is. .
If the United States has learned nothing else since 2003, it has learned that nation-building is difficult, expensive, and leads to political fallout. See, Iraq as Exhibit A.
Turning another country into a failed state by attacking it and breaking stuff is cheap, easy and gets the desired results. See, Libya and Syria.
Sure they did. They didn't bother with nation-building in Syria or Libya but went straight to the "failed state" part, as a failed state is no threat to Israel or the gulfie despotates.
What is ignored is how very profitable America's adventures overseas have been for U.S. weapons companies. A $2 million cruise missile when used provides profits to Raytheon and others for its replacement. When $2 trillion was spent on the occupation of Iraq the companies involved profited enormously and they shared those profits with American politicians and members of the military.
As always one should follow the money.
Oil companies will also enjoy windfall profits as they gain an excuse to ramp up prices. The price for a barrel of oil was not sufficient to cover the cost to extract it from the ground in the USA.
American history books censor actual events and so few people know that it was the Soviets that deserve credit for defeating Nazi German and for the unconditional surrender of the Japanese military after the brilliant invasion of Manchuria and Korea in August 1945.
The British and the Americans wanted to force the surrender of the Soviets to expand capitalism and its colonies but realized that the Soviet forces were much too powerful and the Soviet generals were much better than those of the allies. In a ground war the Soviets would prevail.
All good analysis of the capitalist system.......as George W. told the president of Argentina years ago............It is war makes money. For the defence industries and all who support them, its a bonanza.
For the living earth.......it speeds the utter break down of the ecosphere.....but most warmongers are too focused on the joys of mass murder to get that.
I tend to agree, but being a sentient creature, and having loved ones including three grandchildren, I hope for THEIR sake that this planet won't collapse too soon
This vile insanity can have enormous, hideous consequences. The one positive that could result, at horrible cost to humanity, is the destruction and eradication of sick, Nazi Israel.
Another day of madness, another day to watch the world go more insane. This is due to morons like Felon Trump who lives in a dream world imagining himself this "John Wayne-like" hero taking on the world and crowning himself emperor. What will stop this megalomaniac and his feeble minded enablers? Our world is on the brink of a possible nuclear war, and nothing can seemingly be done to put these madmen in chains, so to speak, and halt this madness!!
I wonder if we will be around in a few years. I was hoping to, so I could see my grandchildren grow up. Goddamn Felon Trump, and everyone who enables and supports him, and all madmen. And God help us, the peacemakers.
Let's go back to our CIA overthrow of the democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh 1953 for their petroleum resevers and our installation of our puppet governor the son of the Shah. Mosaddegh was going to nationalize the petroleum industry in Iran to create social programs for the Iranians and enhance their standard of living. So along with the U.K. who held the petroleum licenses we overthrew their government. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27état
The United States has been an imperialist country from the git go, but media control has kept the truth sequestered.
I spent two weeks in Iran in 2016 and the wonderful people there wanted to engage with the West until Trump stupidly destroyed the multi lateral nuclear agreement Obama had put in place.
Our national prestige and integrity is down the drain under the sycophantic Republican administration and their FOX propaganda traitors.
Rah rah rah! Butch it up, boys; that "smashing up a small country now and then" to assert our American dominance sure sounds good. Remind the world what a winner looks like.
What do you mean we haven't actually won any? Well, there's, uh,...no, or...not there, or there, either. But we can be proud of Grenada, right?
And you say Iran's not a small country? So what! Nothing can stand up against the combined might of the U.S. military-industrial complex!
Never mind the neocons haven't been right about anything. Their fantasy...er, I mean goal, of ruling the world to make it safe for multinational corporations, techno-fascists, and the 1/10th of 1% transcends all silly contrarian claims by disgruntled journalists and envious malcontents. Know that dissent is unpatriotic--denounce it immediately!
Grenada belonged to the British Commonwealth. Reagan didn't phone Margaret Thatcher before he invaded. Thatcher was at a dinner when she got a call from the palace, telling her to get her butt over there NOW because the ignorant Americans had invaded her (the Queen's) country. Don't know what reparations we paid for that stupid mistake, but I'm sure they were stiff.
Sounds about right. And I denounce the USA and its outpost state in the Middle East, the apartheid fascistic state of Israel. It has lost its 'right to exist' through actions obvious to everyone.
I'm just very sad that it takes most of us so long to wake up and smell the napalm and the stink of all ordinance.
Physics is rather uncompromising, and the 2nd Law says that entropy always maintains or increases. The wars in Gaza, Ukraine, and now Iran (with others contemplated) are off loading tons of entropy on an already over loaded planet.
The same morons that can't see climate chaos through global warming, can't see the destruction they are causing through increasing entropy. They probably never heard of it.
It is extremely ignorant to believe that this war is necessary. Israel is out of control-a dangerous rogue nation on the brink of imploding from its hatred of others, and its ridiculous zionist fantasy of taking over much of themiddle east to make a large Jewish only state. In the past 2 years over 1 million Jews left Israel. Certainly now no one wants to move there. Murdering the remaining Palestinians will not bring anything good to Israel. The US is now circling the drain with Nutinyahoo.
Netanyahu agains pulls US strings. "Somewhere over the Atlantic," wrote the late Robert Fisk, "there is a giant glass curtain through which Americans view the Middle East, which utterly distorts their vision." It's likely we will see this phenomenon again very soon. Bibi gets the fight he has been dreaming of for decades, and pulls the US in as a matter, of course, of "mutual security."
Israel is a proxy of the U.S. and does nothing without U.S. cooperation and approval. Israel is not dragging us into war with Iran, it was a joint U.S./Israeli attack…Israel could not have done it without U.S. As citizens, we have a responsibility here.
I believe U.S. citizens are dangerously blase about the ratcheting up of military conflicts around the globe because they haven't the remotest idea of the physical or mental cost of fighting another human being in self defense. I believe the last time U.S. citizens fought a war on homeland territory was during the American Civil War. While that conflict extinguished an estimated 3 million lives from 1861-1865, it was so many generations ago that we have forgotten that cost. Or leaders now even have the audacity to try and erase it from our history books and community monuments. It's no coincidence. I imagine some may decry my leaving out the event of Pearl Harbor in my historical assessment. However, most probably do not realize (nor are they generally taught) that the area attacked by Japanese bombardiers on Dec. 7th, 1941 was not part of a U.S. State at the time, but rather a U.S. territory. If you doubt this has any relevance, then consider the blase attitudes of Americans today to "territorial" conflict as Puerto Rico descends into lawless gang chaos --with hardly a daily news blip. Even with regard to the Pearl Harbor attack, the Japanese strictly focused on dismantling military assets, not civilian quarters or lives. All of this is to say that once the direct human cost is felt directly on the homeland, I believe U.S. minds regarding the casual acceptance of warmongering will change quickly-- and drastically.
Right now (and probably for far too long), there has been no direct civilian discomfort felt with U.S. Empire war mongering. For most Americans, roofs remain over their heads and food usually finds its way into their (growingly obese) bodies on a daily basis. Further, our military and its cheering supporters have long been too comfortable practicing the bravery of being clear out of range. Case in point: Lindsay Graham's recent comment on Israel's unprovoked aerial attack on Iran: "Game on". To his well fed physique it is just another computer joystick game to be casually played from a basement bunker somewhere far, far away from the actual spilling of blood and guts (or worse yet, the vaporizing) of imagined adversaries. It has also led to the delusion of one prognosticator on this forum to imply the U.S. will likely use "tactical nukes" to dismantle Iran or defend Israel. I don't believe in the absurd premise that "tactical nukes" could be responsibly used on any given battlefield anymore than I accept the current propaganda that computers are creating artificial intelligence.
this is the culmination of a 30 year old plan. Iran is the last of 7 countries that the Jewish neocons and Israel marked for destruction. Libya, syria, Lebanon, somalia, iraq, Sudan , and finally IRAN.
One can only hope that Zionist Israel and the Neo-Con Trumpian US and its hand-maiden NATO Europe will be defeated and the world can then look to peace breaking out. What a happy day that promises to be - for everyone.
In the process of destroying the others we are also destroying ourselves, so we have also lost a great deal, not to mention all the young men and women who died in those wars that never had to be fought and were pushed by a neocon agenda with Israel's best interest at heart.
Millions killed in Vietnam and all these other countries
Why because we can
It’s amazing
Maybe should have a national day of mourning every year for the dead at Americas hands
We name places after extinct Native American tribes
YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYOcDtRJLQ
Absolutely, but western taxpayers don't pay that cost and therefore neither they, nor western politicians, care in the least.
Is it fair? Nope.
I think we will pay. All of the US troops in so many middle eastern locations are just the start. I think the US will use "tactical" nukes.
The US very well might, but as far as American taxpayers and politicians are concerned - who cares?
It is the American taxpayers whose tax money is used to fund Israel dirctly for its military activities. The neocons have coveted Iranian oil and are using Israel as a proxy to take control. Either way the price of a barrel of crude brought up from the ground is going to increase by more than 50% in the coming days and that money is coming out of the pockets of everyone in the USA.
There is also the notion of blowback and the result of the United States stationing its soldiers around the globe was 9-11. No free lunch with war.
I doubt they care about the oil. Far cheaper to buy oil if that was their goal.
And humans are easily led. Goering had some choice words on the subject.
Feral that is an insensitive remark.
Finster's First Law readeth thusly: no matter how cynical you think you are, the people who run things are way more cynical than that.
Edit: stupid autocorrect.
Do you pay taxes?
I care, but ai am a peon in the scheme of things, in spite of being part of the 1%.
Young people are worried about being drafted into a war with Iran
Strange time
What does your statement mean, "but as far as American taxpayers and politicians are concerned - who cares?"
Nobody of influence and authority
What makes you think that?
It will likely be over long before those future generations get a chance to change anything.
May the Force be with you....in standing strong for truth out of love.
Thank you, Kathy, for helping me make my point.
You bet!
Oh brother. Good for you. Such a super star making huge assumptions. You are a bore and a victim.
P. S. Why not a rant about a self serving American government which would allow you to have a more realistic perspective.
Why don't you ignore this bore and take your bullshit elsewhere.
Now it's touching them. I can't say I'm sorry.
I think a tour through the ruined towns and cities, with someone pointing out where children were or still are buried under the rubble, what used to be schools or hospitals would be a salutary lesson.
thank you for your feedback, chris!
of course, germans who said "we didn't know about the concentration camps!" were quite shocked to discover what many pretended not to see. quite unfortunately, though - and CON_trary to decades of official efforts to come to terms with and account for this gruesome past - germany has NOT drawn the proper lessons from it.
how else could germany allow israel to turn into an apartheid state? allow israel to establish what many call 'the largest open air concentration camp in west asia'? how could they allow israel to break int'l. law for decades and enjoy total impunity? how can germany repeat the mantra that "israel has a right to defend itself!", when int'l. law clearly states that the right to self-defense is granted nations within their national boundaries only? how can germany label every critical word re. israel's politics as 'antisemitism'? how can german decision makers watch hundreds of thousands of palestinians being slaughtered, maimed, traumatized, starved, when NOT ONE of them is to blame for the holocaust?
when signs pointed towards conflict in the kosovo in 1998, as a german, i remember how appalled i was to hear our then foreign minister [from the green party!] equate events in the city of srebrenica with auschwitz - of all places! - just to get us in the mood for war!
in my view, germany - instead of advocating for peace, human rights, equality, zero double standardry re int'l. law to make up for at least a fraction of the damage it did - dishonors every single victim of the shoa now and has not come to terms with its past, alas! ALAS!
I Endorse This Post!
Yes I love cats too
When you talk about countries being wiped off the face of the earth, you are talking about people being wiped off the face of the earth, which I do care about, and unfortunately those that created this possible reality will find safe haven elsewhere or even with the confines of the country they came to destroy.
My intent was that Israel the nation, not the people would be wiped off the map.
Frankly the terror of the USA elite is interesting
They are desperate so push war
Why? If can just print money
Something is being hidden
Is Peter Turchin correct that revolution has started in USA?
Did the US actually learn that lesson? I don't think so. Keeps doing the same thing, expecting to get a different result.
The Earth is ready to be rid of our human occupation. It’s closer than we think. I’m rooting for The Mother.
I tend to agree, but being a sentient creature, and having loved ones including three grandchildren, I hope for THEIR sake that this planet won't collapse too soon
Yes........and we should likely put all our energies into building what safe zones we can......for the few who will survive the coming carnage.
Good to see some truth!
this is the culmination of a 30 year old plan.
