Chris. Thank you for bringing these 2 amazing young men to speak for Palestine and all Palestinians in our world. I still hope, even though I’m an

elderly woman, that I’ll live

to see a free Palestine and the end of the Netanyahu regime.

Hi, Linda, not to be a downer, but I don't think a free Palestine is a possibility ever, and that's what's so depressing. Every time they proclaim time out of their killing and destruction spree, that is their genocide, they're still killing and destroying what is left standing, including people. What's going on in Ukraine, in Europe, is also crazy, and I can barely understand the craziness anymore. I'm glad they got their documentary up and running, so that's a good thing, and maybe someday the voice of the people will override the craziness of our elected officials as well as the control Israel has implemented over our political system, but I think by then I'll be a goner.

I hope not either, but this whole century has been a downer, and now it seems to be heading toward a climax. Oh, well, enjoy the day. Fran

Yes, I too hope for that for the country, the region and the world.

Look up the origin and history of the term "Semitic." Begins as a description of the descendants of the biblical Shem (light brown) in contrast to the descendants of Ham (black.) Next used as a scholarly classification for the peoples of the Levant and Mesopotamia--Arabs, Israelites, Phoenicians, Assyrians, Babylonians--plus their languages.

Of course the elite Ivy League academics of the early 20th C. did not consider any of 'those people' to be white. Only after WWII did Euro and Euro-American (Ashkenazi) Jews become white. (Chris has written about how this benefits Netanyahu's Israel.) Relatively recently, "Semitic" had its broader definition excised; it came to mean only people of Jewish faith and/or Hebraic origins.

Ironic that a term inclusive for the wrong reasons became exclusive for all too similar wrong reasons.

Thank you Mr. Khalil and Mr. Workman for dedicating yourselves to ending the genocide and apartheid in Palestine, and thank you Chris for hosting them on your program. I was fortunate to see The Encampments in my hometown. I was going to mention where, but after listening to Mr. Workman talk about the venues of the film becoming targets of the lobby, I’ll just say that I share Chris’s high regard for the film. I hope all his readers get to see it. Two students who had participated in the encampments, one from Columbia and the other from a local university were in the audience of the film I attended and it meant a lot to me to be able to thank them in person. They said that support from their local communities was very meaningful and helped sustain them. I owe the students personally for awakening me to the situation in Palestine, both past and present, and motivating me to educate myself and become involved in the pro-Palestinian (anti-genocide) movement. They and the health care and aid workers and journalists.

I hope fervently that Mr. Khalil prevails in his lawsuits and that he achieves full citizenship and remains safe to continue his work and life here. What he said about not electing or reelecting politicians who have supported the genocide and apartheid state is so important. I hope we will all write to not only our own representatives, but those in other states to let them know we will not support a genocide. Writing the DNC and even the RNC is worthwhile too. Although the DNC did not vote for the proposal of a young staffer for an arms embargo, it did withdraw another much weaker proposal in a kind of stand off. That’s because of pressure from voters. I think the reason they did not adopt the embargo proposal is that they did not hear from enough of us. Same with members of Congress. Some have changed their positions because of pressure from their constituents. If the Italians can organize strikes, we should be able to mount an effective campaign to let our “representatives” know we will not tolerate their support for a genocide. It’s on us. There are now a significant number of candidates who are running in primaries on anti AIPAC and monetary/weapons support for Israel. The New Policy has created an alternative to Act Blue for funding the campaigns of these candidates. You can check out their website if you want to get involved.

I fear that RNC and DNC are two arms of the same creature. Until we are rid of capitalism as an economic structure capitalist wars and genocides will persist.

Many people know that the FDR ordered concentration camps for Americans was hid well too

What Chris fails to mention is that he and thousands of Americans allowed and support a coercive monopoly entity to control our inherently socialist society
