She raised money from unions and individual donors, while her chief opponent took “dark money” from a PAC (the donors don’t have to identify themselves) and was supported by commercial developers, outside donors and utility companies.

I have not yet looked up the sponsors of the House bill, but of the eight sponsors of SB 4576, five are Democrats: Jackie Rosen (NV); Chuck Schumer (NY); John Fetterman (PA); Elissa Slotkin (Mich.); and Brian Schatz (HI).
It appears the bills would be enforced through amendments to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which would elevate the rights of “Jewish Americans” above those of other protected classes (the statutes prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, religion and gender).
A New Policy monitors and critiques pending legislation. I would say that stealing Palestinian land and forcing them out of their homes, including killing many of them, is immoral, but I don't see any mistake here. The U.S. clearly doesn't give a damn about Palestinians, Arabs in general, or Iranians, so the creation of Israel was not a mistake from their point of view.

Israel is not a U.S. ally. It is a dangerous and expensive liability. That reality has now become impossible to ignore. Zionists are not special. They just think they are.
Valuable insight and perspective, however, Israel-- the government and the people have hardened substantially. Every fight is an existential fight -- more, if they are not fighting they are not fulfilling their God-given mission on earth. Having been shuttled to the side by the US, their desperation will surely peak. They are a nuclear power. Their regard for human life and consequences is de minimis - -and declining with each passing day that the world tolerates the razing in Gaza and Lebanon.
Israel is in a corner, with conventional arms, protection and funding in jeopardy. Quite apart from (and in addition to) the politics of the moment, the entire country is feeling the pressure of a failed war. This is a recipe for disaster.
