Something is happening here, what it is isn't exactly clear. Chris Hedges on the so-called 28-point Ukraine peace plan. And don't ignore the flashing red lights.
More interesting than the "land for peace" is the restrictions on what Ukraine does post-peace.
Needless to say, Ukraine is not going to want any kind of peace deal, as war keeps the money flowing. Take away the war, and Ukraine goes from The Most Democratic Country Evah (the country so democratic it has jettisoned elections, term limits, freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of religion, and has now suspended Parliament) to a corrupt, impoverished and Nazi-infested shithole.
Europe seeks to get the Americans to go to war for them. Again. So naturally, they also are not going to be happy over any peace deal. Of course, if the Americans want to get europe to heel, Trump need only tell the europeans loudly and publicly that the NATO will defend them from aggression, but the United States will not ride to their rescue if they persist in provoking Russia. Watch european tails tuck between european legs.
And no, germany is not going to provide any kind of army. Germans are the biggest metrosexual weenies in europe, not to mention the german population is old. There is a reason that military recruiters do not troll old folks homes for prime candidates.
Anyway, let's see whether anything comes of any of this before either taking a victory lap or crying "defeat", what say?
I thought naming Germany as some potential threat to peace in the future was a bit odd, although Germany standing by Israel makes me sick. One might attribute it to their former guilt but in reality makes no sense, since they are siding with a country implementing a genocide. Why Europe persists in it's lets get Russia crap is beyond me other then they maybe using as a diversion since they say Europe isn't doing so hot in terms of their economy.
European strategy since 1917 can be summarized as "get Americans to fight our wars for us!"
This worked in 1917, in 1941, in 1949, in 1999, in 2011. It did not work in 1956, and the beitish, french and Israelis had to slink back to their lairs to plot and scheme.
Well Germany did provide some provocation for America to enter a couple of the wars, like Germany sinking the Lusitania and some 120 US citizens killed, and they also attacked American ships. What I hate about the 1st WW was those they made serve, which were blacks, and immigrants from the south and east of Europe due to America's very prejudicial position against those groups at that time, and before and after that time. I don't think anyone from the the north or west of Europe fought in that war. Also WWII and Pearl Harbor drew us into that one. The others, beware of the Military Industrial Complex? I'm not that savvy about wars because I hate reading about them. Europe right now disgusts me as does the US in supplying it with weapons. The most significant reason for our wars is the kinship we share with the chimps who can be very territorial and aggressive. No bonobos in our evolution.
Your right if your suggesting that basically from Europe's position without US intervention Europe would become greater Germany and next in line would be US. I don't know what he said.
Go back & research the real reasons we entered both world wars, don't use a mainstream browser, use Yandex & search for "lies about WWII" or "lies about WWII."
Germany definitely supports Israel because of guilt. A German friend told me that they're shown pictures of the Holocaust in school and told, "you did this." A strange thing to tell kids who weren't even born when it happened, but that's what kids there are raised to believe.
If your friend is telling the truth it's certainly very inappropriate to make these young children feel culpable for a past that was not theirs. Yes their country is responsible for the horror they inflicted on many based on multiple prejudices as well as instigating an obscene war that killed many many millions, but it was not their personal past which allowed it to happen. However by Germany supporting Israel they are inadvertently lending support to their own past, but no doubt like too many they are too afraid to stand against what Israel is doing out of fear of being called anti-Semitic, and their own past brought up. Israel has used this tactic to squash descent and excuse so many of it's many atrocities. Even some people on this site excuse Israel's genocide implementing the same tactics. I went to lunch with a group of women, and someone asked an old Jewish friend to join us. She knew many of these women, but I was a newcomer and to her I looked German, and she asked what ethnicity I was. I said Polish and Italian. She jumped on my Polish side and told me that my people killed her people. I told her d I doubt it since they came over here long ago and so poor while there I'm sure they spent their free time looking for food, and not Jews. I told her lets not let this go, so you can explain to me why Israel has killed and victimized so many Palestinians in a land that was given to them by a colonial mindset and a racist perspective on the Arab world. That shut her mouth. This was before their present genocide. Let me also say I know many people who are Jewish who do not have this woman's sense of perpetual victimization.
It's not where you're from it's where you're at. Blaming someone for what their country did before they were born is just another type of prejudice. I'm Jewish and have PLO Jordanian/Palestinian friends. So what? And yes, crying "victim" all the time about everything is obnoxious, disgusting, and totally illegitimate. And to be clear, I hate Israel and am totally anti-Zionist.
Indeed, Germany's standing by Israel is sickening, when is there going to be a movement there that will cause Germans to grow a pair & take back their country from America's Zionist-Owned-Government? The only Holocaust that was perpetrated was against the Germans themselves, no Jewish Holocaust, no death camps, no homicidal gas chambers, no mass graves & definitely no Nazi plan to exterminate European Jews! The answer to what's going on in Ukraine may be the now widely covered by alt media, plan for a New Jerusalem in that country. https://web.archive.org/web/20160305000323/http://rehmat1.com/2014/08/16/ukraine-new-jewish-promised-land/
@bernard: in germany, unfortunately, many people still believe that w./o. US help after WWII, we would never have become a democracy. so we 'must' be eternally grateful to our friends across the pond. [just as russia "must be our eternal foe", as our foreign minister blatantly stated the other day.]
an opposition movement to "shake US shackles!" forms only slowly, alas. and then there are all those US giants like mcdonalds, coca cola, apple, amazon, microsoft, netflix and company, that make life so [cursedly!] comfortable. US influence can't be all that bad then, can it? ["certainly better than ending up in any russian gulag", people sheepishly spell out our choices.] truly a drag.
When it comes to the Epstein files I wish people would hold off on making accusations, bringing up names, and in this case very forcefully Trump's involvement until proof supports those allegations. People assume because women make accusations of sexual abuse it's a given, which it is not, and I'm not denying the reality of claims made in reference to Epstein. I would hate to see the abuse of women, young women, girls, be used to attack those who are perceived as political adversaries, or just plain hated by those making claims against them.
The whole Epstein thing reeks like a CIA/Mossad honeypot trap to me, which would explain why Epstein videoed everything (though obviously he could have done it for personal reasons). Anyone who has any sense realizes that Epstein was murdered because he could drop a dime on a lot of rich & powerful people, and there's other evidence regarding a honeypot trap. THAT's the real story here, far bigger than which creepy old men abused and raped girls and women.

You may recall Winston Churchill 's words on the subject about getting the Americans to fight for Britain.

You have a normal and healthy perspective on things, but some people really don't.

Is this really what's going on in Ukraine, is this why we see fighting & more fighting, is it why Victoria Nuland lied about a proposed peace plan there? https://web.archive.org/web/20160305000323/http://rehmat1.com/2014/08/16/ukraine-new-jewish-promised-land/
