I am deeply concerned about the escalation in fascist repression we would see in the aftermath of a potential major terror attack in the US. Do you have any ideas of how people of conscience can prepare themselves for such an event? I don’t think we have truly reckoned with how much worse it can get. Thanks for your work.

Jesus’s disciples were crestfallen when Jesus was crucified. All hope was lost. When we pull for what is right, regardless of the probability of outcome, are we in effect living our Christian call? If so, wouldn’t it be unchristian to vote for a genocidal candidate during an election? Could a Christian, in good conscience have voted for either Kamala or Trump?

I struggled with this and decided not to vote.

I voted for Jill Stein because she was the only candidate on the ballot in the majority of states in opposition to the genocide in Gaza. The probability that she would win was virtually insurmountable, but she got my vote just the same. At the crucifixion, it was remarkably unlikely that anything should come from this guy Jesus of Nazareth. Hedges is a Presbyterian minister, though he doesn’t advertise the fact. I’m wondering if his philosophy to do what’s right “regardless of the probability of success” is rooted in the Christian faith, and the lesson of the crucifixion-to-resurrection in particular. It’s a timely question, I think.

Are there any historical examples of effective resistance measures that avoided the descent into authoritarianism and if so would they still be as applicable to today’s societies?

In reading about revolutions (which may be needed soon to fight authoritarianism), I’ve seen how often societies will protest/fight/revolt using methods they’ve historically known (France rioting in the streets for example).

With the US historically suppressing union and anti-war movements, we seem to lack a connection to modalities of revolting (boycotts, protests, mass-strikes).

What historical examples can we look to, to understand how to cultivate a movement that will have the effectiveness, unity, and momentum that will be needed in the coming months? What groups or leaders in the US right now, do you think show promise in unifying a mass-movement?

This is a good question, as part of our American mythos we try so hard to paint ourselves as these brazen freedom fighters, but as the rubber meets the road it turns out a majority of us, especially those in positions of influence, are submissive and cowardly.

Why would one want to be a dictator? How does that happen?

With Harvard standing up to unconstitutional demands and even Mossad veterans condemning Netanyahu’s war, could we be seeing cracks in global authoritarianism?

Chris, how close are we to Orwell's "1984," where war is peace? Who next for the Two Minutes' Hate? Iran, China, both? How do we stop the march toward more and more war? Thanks.

Harvard Says It Will Not Comply With Trump Administration’s Demands. Will it embolden other universities to stand up to this authoritarian government?

Will your upcoming event with Gabor Mate be available to watch later? It will be very interesting.

I was curious if you were aware of the recent political developments in Bosnia involving RS president Milorad Dodik and his recent appearance in Israel for an antisemitism conference?

Were tarrifs market manipulation or preparatory for conflict with China?

The program just ended, thank you again.

The Q&A sessions help sustain the spirit (as well as providing clarity).

The New York Times' Israel/Palestine coverage is widely understood by us as schlock journalism, reflective of the paper's masters: a craven bunch of truckling toadies to Israel.

I offer Marc Tracy's doctored "transcript" of Basel Adra's Oscar speech--in which the words "settler" and "Israeli occupation" are omitted--as objective, irrefutable proof to the skeptics.

What details can you provide to help us corroborate this charge?
