My question is about Venezuela. Did "insiders" really betray Maduro? Or are they instead biding their time with a gun at their head? The Venezuelan govt supporters there want us to continue to show solidarity, but that's pretty hard to do with Delcy and crew seemingly so compliant. I don't know what to believe honestly
I've gotta move Crime and Punishment up in the queue, to read in time for the Hedges Book Hour. It has long been on my list of the remedial liberal education (the one that was insufficient earlier in life).
And thank you again for the mention of Durkheim. Suicide and the writings of Max Weber were the best part of what I did get along those lines decades ago. They were the primary perspectives that informed my thinking about and perception of what has played out in society since, the point of anomie, in particular.
